San Ignacio Golf Club
About
Located in Green Valley just a short drive south of Tucson, lies San Ignacio Golf Club. An Arthur Hills design, San Ignacio features well placed grass bunkers, dynamically shaped Bermuda fairways and some of the smoothest greens in Arizona. Known for the friendly nature of the course and the staff, San Ignacio is a favorite among the locals from the retirement community of Green Valley and nearby Tucson. The way the course rests naturally among the canyons, ridges and arroyos of the Santa Cruz River Valley pays tribute to the desert and the commanding views of the surrounding mountains. But be aware, the course can play very tight and any errant shot can fall short into many waiting greenside bunkers.

Better Than Expected Desert Summer Conditions
I was pleasantly surprised by the conditions, especially considering it's the beginning of the HOT Arizona summer. Don't expect perfect fairways and greens this time of year, but the course was in better shape than several more expensive courses I've played recently.
The drive was a bit long from where I was staying, so when you factor in the travel time, it's probably an "okay" value overall. If it were closer, I'd definitely make it part of my regular rotation.
One feature I really appreciated was the GPS system on the carts. The iPad-style display made navigating the course and judging distances easy, which was especially helpful since it was my first time playing here.
I was also paired with a friendly golfer from Sierra Vista, and we finished our round in under four hours, making for a relaxed and enjoyable day.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend San Ignacio if you're in the area. If it were closer to me, I'd be back often.
Good Course To Play
Fun and challenging course. Staff was very friendly. From the starters, clubhouse, bar, Oasis. Everyone was great. The pace was good, we weren’t pushed. Some of the other Green Valley courses push the pace too hard. This was ideal.
One of the best course around Tucson to play for the money
Let me start by saying this isn’t something I normally do. I rarely take the time to leave reviews, but San Ignacio Golf Club absolutely deserves one.
Every time I’ve played here, the course has been in outstanding condition. The layout is both fun and challenging, making every round enjoyable no matter how many times you play it. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, and after your round, the food at the clubhouse is incredible—some of the best you’ll find at any golf course.
What really sets San Ignacio apart, though, is the people. The staff is always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely goes out of their way to make you feel at home. It’s one of those places where you can tell they truly care about the golfers’ experience.
If you haven’t played San Ignacio before—or if it’s been a while—I can’t recommend it enough. Give it another shot. I honestly don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
And to all the golf groups and weekend golf gangs out there, this course deserves a spot in your regular rotation. Trust me—you’ll be glad you added it.
Somewhat disappointed
We had two foursomes that started our rounds at about 3 pm. The last four holes were disrupted by the sprinklers going off. We could not finish the round. There was no one at the pro shop at the time.
Always a Good Course
Good conditions for 100 degree weather. Fast pace (low traffic). Fairways and greens in good shape. Go play
great time
Breezed thru front nine caught slow 4some could have been done in 3 hours instead 350
