Riverside Golf Course

Fairways surfaces were hard. Very difficult to get the club under the ball. Other than that i had a great time and the course looked great.

As crazy as it sounds, the portable restroom where probably the cleanest portables I've ever seen.

We had fun but the greens had some patchy areas. I know they are trying to fix them but there are 4 or 5 greens in rough shape. Other than that we always enjoy an afternoon at Riverside

I’ve played Riverside at least 20 times over many years, it’s been a cheap but adequate place to play when my favorites are booked. However, yesterday was a breaking point for me. The course is in the worst shape I’ve ever seen. Many of the tee boxes look like they’ve had recent grenade practice on them, and they’ve used green sand to fill in the holes, which is an inadequate solution. Several greens had ugly/lumpy hatchet-job sod repairs on them, or more green sand to fill in bad spots. The fairways are ok, but there’s a lot of bare dirt and rocks in the areas with trees. Yesterday they had changed up the routing to have people play #1, then 11-18, then 2-10. Several groups we came across had no idea about the change, and the one marshall we saw on the course was confused about it too. This all led to pileups with people playing the course in different sequences. The guy in the clubhouse was unapologetic about it, and said he was “trying to tell all groups” about the change. Overall, it just seems like nobody really cares about maintaining the course or order on the course. I’m done with Riverside until I hear things have improved a lot.

Played here last year on vacation and returned this year for vacation and booked tee time Saturday & Sunday. Definitely will play here again and I highly recommend this course for anyone interested in a course.

This is now my go to course. The staff is great from the clubhouse Ben James Tanner and Bryant are so so nice, Also the beverage cart team go above and beyond So nice to play with the Red Tee League on Tuesdays. This is a hidden gem !

Overall good course. It had a some areas yonder repair, but minimal impact to golf play. Will pleat there again.

Staff was very courteous and helpful good food choices at the grill and drink choices they have a pool table and good choices of merchandise and availability of clubs that can be rented to play greens were kinda fast but Overall course was in good condition and the weather was great

Course layout is fun, a lot of greens and tee boxes needing help but the price is good for town and you can still get around for a fun day!

My wife and I were in Austin for a long weekend and played Riverside. We were looking for a course that wasn’t overly difficult, as she’s relatively new to golf, and Riverside was a good fit. The greens had some rough spots and the fairways were quite hard but that’s to be expected with the little rain in Texas this summer. Great staff in the clubhouse and on the beverage cart. We’d play there again.

Booked on GN and had a great time. Open fairways, great staff and perfect greens. Loved the rate but avoid those high noon tee times; I almost passed out. 🫠

Fairways and Greens are in great condition. A few Tee Boxes need mound leveled

one of the better courses in Austin, even during the height of summer, the course is in good/very good shape even with the heat

This is quite literally what you pay for and expectations should be as such. The greens are extremely grainy, half covered in green dyed sand and very firm. The pace of play is slow. Most of the fairways are just dead grass in this heat. Bunkers are solid hard dirt. It’s a municipal course - don’t expect much. Go here to have some beers with your buddies & not keep score. Staff in the pro shop are great folks and very friendly.
