Two long par 4s (15 & 16) make for a meaty finish. Photo submitted by BrandonTuckerGA on 06/12/2017
Riverside
Course in decent to good condition. A few of the greens are in need of work. Some bare spots. Other greens in good shape.
Course is solid. Don’t buy the gloves in the pro shop.
Greens were insanely fast and some not in great shape but overall course is solid.
An employee in the pro shop suggested a glove for me to buy, which I did. The glove split in half across the palm after only 8 holes and when I told the pro shop this they basically just said tough luck.
Mediocre
This course is mediocre. If you are just starting out it’s a good course to learn. But if you are a seasoned played, don’t expect much from this course.
Great City Course
Riverside GC was a pleasant surprise in the heart of Austin. It was a short Uber ride in, but the driver/map was a little confusing because its embedded in a school area. The practice area with stoneworks reminded me of the Lido Island GC in Venice, Italy. Course conditions were acceptable for a busy city course. Its a little dry now and some of the approaches were hard pan.
Overall it was enjoyable for a great value.
Solid Choice
It’s a fun course to play definitely worth visiting.
Terrible Course!
This is by far the worst course I have ever played in Texas. Literally every green is in complete disrepair with sand and dirt in multiple spots. The tee boxes are a joke; completely just dirt and sand and off level. The fairways are so beat up and pitted that even a perfect shot down the middle will bounce out and leave you looking for your ball. The slight rain from the day before cannot excuse ridiculous conditions like these. How can anyone be willing to pay $50+ to play this nightmare dogpark of a course? We played it two years ago and it was not nearly this bad so something has happened over the last two years to make this course a ghetto. YIKES!
Value Course
Certainly a good price for a municipal
Course. Nice practice green with multiple holes. No driving range; just a net area to hit into. This is a traditional older style course with mostly straight fairways. Multiple greens had problem areas covered with green sand/seed?. Course was certainly busy on a Thursday. Pro shop gentleman was very friendly and informative.
I recommend some great value-for-money golf courses
The fairways were in good shape, and the greens were also quite nice. Since the course is heavily wooded, I’d recommend playing a safe layup if you miss your tee shot. I had a 2 PM tee time and grabbed a hot deal for $45. I’ve added this to my favorite courses and plan to visit often
Fairways and Greens always 5 star. However, the Tee boxes are inconsistent.
Great staff and great value
This will not be the nicest course you’ll ever play but the staff is always accommodating and the greens are in decent shape especially for the price. The fairways are forgiving but you will get some challenging opportunities as well. Couldn’t recommend it enough for beginners like myself.
It's Riverside, Not Anything Special
I like playing at Riverside, you know what you're getting into and it is cheaper than most places. The course is what it is in the spring, but it is the right amount of challenge for my below average golf game.
