Aeration
The greens were punched and it really threw off my game.
Full Price for Sanded Greens and Alternate 18 holes
Putting on damp sanded greens on the Dunes course: not fun. Also, wooly...slow. Some of the holes cart-path only, likely from rain. Back nine was diverted to the Lakes course. White tees were just behind the ladies'. Played way too short. Greens were sandy, bumpy (from recent aeration?) and just not nice.
Paying a premium full price for sub-standard conditions and short layout = not a good value. C'mon guys, Glenlakes used to be the nicest layout around < $100. Now it is just <$100. Sad.
Super Course
Course is in great shape. Classic style with lots of sand, some water and many mounds. Greens is good shape. The fairways and tee box's were just plugged but did not affect play. Do feel you will have a great round playing here
Very sad that Glenlakes has degraded to this level
I have played probably 150 rounds here over the years. The course, over the last 2 years, has degraded tremendously. Greens are recovering from probably 18 months of damage/disease. Fairways during this round look like a battlefield in many spots: bare spots, and appears some critters have been digging up turf/holes looking for ? (grubs?). Tee boxes poor to fair, very bare and/or muddy. Cart paths are in general disrepair... holes, patches over patches in same spots. Just not very nice to drive on. Add on top of this: the base prices have gone up $20/round or 30% over the last year, for much worse course conditions. Front desk at pro shop is not at all friendly,. My questions answered very 'short', like I'm stupid. Was just asking... (I'm the customer that keeps them open!). Unfortunately, not many options in Gulf Shores that are semi-affordable. BTW: parking lot was sparse when I finished my round, and they had MANY cancellations and blank spots on the tee sheet. Sad.
Fun Course
Enjoyed the day! However, a Course maintenance crew member would not move sand machine or even turn off the machine while we hit our approach shots and he continued to be a distraction as we putted out. His rudeness was not appreciated.
Other than those two distracted holes, it was an enjoyable experience.
Great course for a GolfNow deal!
Great layout, friendly staff and got us on the Vista-Dunes. The Lakes course needs a lot of work but other than that a fun round if golf!
Loved the course
Pace of play was great! Played with one other guy. Played in 3 1/2 hours
Good course
Always a good place that is well kept. Gets a lot of use. Always been paired up with good folks.
Great People With A Course In Bad Shape
The cart staff, range staff, and pro shop staff are all delightful people to deal with. However, the course is in really sad shape. I have never seen green complexes in this condition anywhere in my life. There is almost no grass on any of the greens. There seems to be zero effort made to repair the snow damage from 16-months ago. This course is an anchor to the Glen Lakes housing area and the flagship course for Foley. It is not living up to its end of the bargain. The course is very dry, the greens are sad, and the price is way too high for all of it.
Tee boxes were hard to push in a tee
That’s really the only complaint I could come up with. It’s been very dry, so it was hard to push the tee in on the tee boxes. Otherwise, I wish prices hadn’t gone w.
This course is still great value. I can pay a lot more for this level of frustration…
Pushed
Course was fun but I felt pushed all day. Not necessarily busy, just no space between people teeing off resulting in waiting for groups to clear the green and being pushed to finish the hole. Just a jammed up course when it really didn’t need to be.
Glen Lakes Lajes Course
This course is not one I’d play again. Almost every green was unplayable Fairways were fine but greens were awful. Also the pace of play was very slow.
nice course
plate on a hot deal got paired with a couple of nice guys! Fun day on the golf course
Cart girls
So a transfusion at the bar cost $8.50 but a transfusion on the course is $20.00
I Venmo the cart person Debra but she never shows the prices of the beverage. Only says price by word of mouth. I feel like I’m over paying on the course for beverages and being lied to
