2nd best course in Alabama in my opinion. Fairways was perfect and the greens rolled true. In my opinion these greens are the hardest in Alabama. Play this course if you get a chance. You won’t regret it. Plenty of risk and reward shots. But if you don’t like water then don’t play here. Pretty sure water came into play all 18 holes. Little heads up on the greens. They don’t play as much break as you think it will.
Incredible Experience
I had an unreal and incredible experience playing Cypress Bend today which began from the time I checked in until I left. It was drizzling before I got to the course for a 1:00 tee time, but it never rained on me the entire time I was at the driving range or while playing 18 holes.
Part of the incredible experience involved not seeing a single person on the driving range or during my entire 18 holes and it was like a dream. I literally had the entire course to myself which has never happened to me before. The course was in excellent condition even after the latest hurricane.
I want to give a special thanks to Nick and Paola for being so helpful and kind today.
Grip and rip it
Great course for average golfer. Wide fairways and great greens. Fun course for any golfer.
Palmer Course
Excellent layout with plenty of tee boxes for all levels of play. Fairways are wide enough to keep you out the abundant water. Like all Palmer designs I have ever played there are a ton of bunkers. Get the ball in the air and keep it straight.
A must play golf course
Before I booked my tee time I already knew that this golf course had been aerated a few days ago. However, the greens were not so bad I just had to adjust my putting technique. It's just a bit sloppy at some of the fairways, because it has been raining a lot lately.
The bag boy named, Bill were excellent. He made sure that he took care every golfers who pulled in...
My only complained to this golf course were the on the course bathrooms need to be clean.
Greens were absolutely terrible
Greens had very many sandy and dried up big spots, were slow, and had scuff marks, bumps, and grass growing out of them. Club staff weren’t too nice either. Smells bad in very many spots, had loads of construction around, and the bunkers were shallow. Don’t recommend whatsoever since you will hit the green and not be able to make a birdie to save your life because of the greens. Pace of play was very slow as well with a lot of older groups there.
Arnie would be proud
The best thing about my round was hanging out with the folks at the clubhouse. It rained non stop. Only had the one day to play and I stuck it out. 4 hours or so later and I finally got on the course. In those 4 hours though, I had one of the best club sandwiches of my life (kudos to the other reviewer that recommended it!) and bought the best pair of golf shoes I've ever owned (Adidas Code Chaos). Was extended a members discount on them as well due to rain ruining my golf day and I thought that was mighty gentlemanly of them. Once I did make it on the course, I was fighting a losing battle against the rain. Tried my best to enjoy it, but we all know how that goes. Course conditions were still playable though and it really is a beautiful course. Challenging, but not so challenging that you feel powerless. Can't wait to get back and play it on a dry day, but I enjoyed my experience none the less. Arnie would definitely be proud of the folks working there and their commitment to making each golfer feel welcomed.
Needs some updating, but good solid course.
Seemed a bit dated, but the course was in good shape as were the greens. Wasn't quite as nice as I'd hoped being a Palmer/Troon course, but would like to return and try the other course there. Bar area wasn't that nice, but the food was good and they handled things well during Covid. Did get to play as a twosome which was great!
Great Course
This is a great course and it plays hard from the tips and much easier from the closer tee boxes so it can be fun for everyone. I played with my son who is 13 and he said it was the best part of our vacation.
Immaculate
I played the Cypress bend course and it was a great time. I don’t get to play nice courses very often so I always had the idea the nicer the harder. That just wasn’t the case. Having a course in such great condition made every shot that much easier, greens were sticky and if I hit them they stuck. My home course is very rough, which must make it even harder to play well. This was my best round I’ve ever had, and I believe the course had a lot to do with it!
Amazing Staff & Course
First and for most I had never been to a course this nice before and felt nervous on what to do but I was greeted by a young man named James (wonderful southern hospitality) at the front of the building and he made me feel like I was a member. Also what an outstanding course .. I’m no scratch golfer and the resort style course was perfect for me.
Great Course!
Staff was friendly, range and putting green was nice and the course was in very good shape.
Great course
Great course. We were delayed by rain, lots of it, but the course drained extremely well and we continued our round without problems. The greens rolled perfectly. The only"complaint" is that the links course wasnt really a links course, but it was in wonderful condition.
Very nice course
Top notch course. Fast fairways and greens. Excellent condition. Excellent staff and service. Highly recommended.
