The 18-hole Gulf Shores Golf Club (formerly known as Golf Club of The Wharf) in Gulf Shores, Alabama is a public golf course that opened in 1963. LONG
course is in good shape after the new ownership has taken over. I had played this course more than once in the past but had been more than 7 years. I don't remember it being so long and difficult. My round would have been enjoyable but I waited on almost every shot. It took an hour to play the first 3 holes. I had to leave for dinner after only playing 13 holes.

This course was in great shape. Greens were really good. My son and I had a great time.
Spring Break Golf
This was my first time playing the course & it was in great shape. The greens were firm & medium speed, fairways were green & soft, & plays long from blue & back tees. It does have a lot of fairway sand tramps. I will be back.
Great coursebut slow play
Tee'd off early afternoon, the course was in great shape, greens were smooth, the fairways were in good shape and the traps were soft and fluffy. I'm not used to having such nice sand. The only drawback was the slow play, it took 5 hrs to play that afternoon. The good thing was that it was a beautiful afternoon so it wasn't as painful as it could have been.
I highly recommend this course.
Great greens
Flat course that is nicely mounded. Good layout. I played first week in March. Overseeded tees. Fairways are smooth and grass is growing in. Good value if you get a golf now hot deal.
Enjoyable Round of Golf
Greens were fast but ran true. Fairways were in really good shape. Fun course to play. Will come back.
Nice course and incredibly challenging greens(fast) and used golfnow for a great discount. Only thing I would say is to have a course layout because if you've never played there you may have trouble on some holes with water and direction. On scorecard no layout and had no layout booklets. All in all a great experience. 4.5/5
Great Shores experience
Was created warmly by young lady pro who the experience here off to great start. Range was all I needed off of mats. Course condition for early March was ideal both in FW and on the greens. Played back nine 1st this day and was a treat. Lots of great laid out holes on both nines! Be playing this course many times.
Welcoming staff - fun course!
Pro shop was friendly and informative. Ample range, chipping, and putting area. Not too busy. A few of the greens had some issues. Nice long par fives. Challenging with water and bunkers. Wonderful wildlife. Just a chill day of golf!

Course was in great shape. Because of the wind there was nobody on the course
