About
The course at Soldiers Creek Golf Club was designed by Scott Clark, a former Golf Course Superintendent at The Grand Hotel in Point Clear Alabama and the current Superintendent at The Peninsula Golf Club in Gulf Shores Alabama. While this is Scott's first attempt in playing the role of a course architect, it also reveals his depth of experience in the golf course industry. The design goals of building a course that would be enjoyable for high handicappers as well as low handicappers was met in this design.
The course features wide player-friendly fairways. Also, water comes into play on only two holes which makes navigating this course easier for high handicappers. A large natural turf driving range and 10,000 square foot practice green is available as a warm-up or practice area.
Soldiers Creek Golf Club is owned by the Norman Woerner family. Norman is a member of the Woerner Turf family of sod producers. Woerner Turf is a world-wide leader in turf production. The company provides turf for many golf courses ranging from Augusta National to new courses in Hong Kong. They also supply the turf for the NFL Super Bowl and the NFL Pro Bowl in Hawaii.
Southern Turf Nurseries provided the Tif Eagle for Soldiers Creek Golf Club. This turf grass is considered by many to be the best-of-the-best turf for southern golf course greens. The fairways and roughs are Tif 419, a dense-growing emerald-colored grass that's perfect for plush fairways.The greens feature Tif Eagle, the newest and best-of-the-best southern turf grass for golf course greens. An increasingly popular choice for new golf courses and redesigns, this turf permits a closer cut, thus allowing for smoother, faster greens.
Located only several miles from Alabama's sun-kissed Gulf Coast, this new 18 hole championship course is part of the Woerner Preserve Resort. Our friendly staff welcomes you to play the newest course on the Gulf Coast. Yes, we are now open. Come spend some time with family or friends. Relax and enjoy a round of golf in this natural setting.
DIRECTIONS: From I-10, take exit 44 (Gulf Shores Pkwy/Hwy 59 South). Travel south on Hwy 59 for approx. 18 miles. Turn left onto Hwy 98 (at light in Foley). Travel approx. 10 miles to Co. Rd 95. Turn right and go 1 ½ mile. Course is on the left.

Nice track
Th course layout and design are very nice. Greens are well taken care of and roll pure. This course will test your game and the scenery is also very nice. Overall it’s well worth the price.
Amazing for a winter round
I am from Georgia and came down to visit some family for the holidays. I came out for a 7:30 AM tee time on a cool December morning. No bad tee boxes no bad greens. Everything was in great shape for the time of year. Spoke with a worker after the round and found out this course recently changed hands within the family functions off of mostly volunteer work. Great experience with a very friendly staff and will come back.
Nice track
One of the friendliest staffs I have ever met. The pro shop was extra kind and it made my group feel very comfortable. The greens were a little rough but the tight fairways and layout made this course a challenge. Go play this hidden gem, you won’t regret it.
Didn’t honor rate
The course didn’t honor the booking rate. Golf now quote said $119 owed at the course. They charged us $55 per person at the course. 3 people.
Also booked a 3:40 tee time for 18 holes. Course closed at 6pm. Sprinklers turned on could finish last 3 holes. Poor customer service.
The course itself was nice.
Poor advertising
Booked our round through Golf now. When we got to the course, they charged us $55 around per person instead of the $42 advertised. Also did not share with us that the course closed at 6 o’clock sprinklers were turned on and we were unable to finish the last three holes.
Lost in a forest
For the front nine, there was nobody around, felt like I was alone in the middle of a forest, it felt awesome! Greens are better than your standard public course. Overall, great round, well, almost, on the 12th I caught up to 2 foresomes, so I just left ...
Soldier Creek Labor Day Golf
Course was in very good condition. The pace of play was excellent, and I caught up with some good people who also enjoyed the course and the game.
For the money it’s a nice course
Good course for the money , nice staff and nice greens. They even sell cigars !
Labor day golf
The course was in very good condition. Since I was only playing 9 holes they sent me off the back nine and the pace was perfect. I would recommend this course to anyone. The staff was very friendly and worked with me to make sure I was accommodated for just wanting to play 9 holes.
Soldier Creek Sunday golf
The course was not crowded but maybe because it was a Sunday morning and hot. I did play alone until the 5th hole when I caught a foursome and another single caught up with me. Some of the greens had mixed grass types that made it hard to putt.
Great Course, handicapped front desk
This course has a great layout!! Nice and wide fairways with beautiful view. Also has restrooms and water jugs on the course. Only downfall is the unqualified, unprofessional prepubescent front desk help. There is also a 3% CC fee
Hidden Gem
Played for second time and it was actually better than first. Great pace of play, excellent staff, and greens were in excellent condition. Played after 330 and it was 35 dollars. Excellent value will definitely go again
