Horrible Tee boxes - horrid
I've never seen such horrible tee boxes. It's like being in a hazard in many instances. Varies from spongy Crab grass that sinks 2 inches to all kinds of weed infestations when you have to tee the ball up an uncomfortable amount. Many boxes need to be leveled as well. Greens were decent, but the tee boxes need to be worked on immediately.
Tee boxes are HORRID
The tee boxes are absolutely atrocious.
From Spongy crab grass, bare, and everything in between.
A flat dirt patch would be 1000 times better.
Challenging but forgiving
La Mirada GC is a relatively well maintained public course with nice fairways and greens. A nice variety of challenging holes and the fairways can be forgiving for those that don’t always hit the ball straight.
The course was aweful
Tee off at 8:30. They let a 5 some out in front of us. 2 of the players were young kids under 12. Unbelievable. By 12:20 was only on hole 14. Ended up just quitting . It was getting hot 96% and probably was going to take another 3 hours. 6 hours of golf for a mondsh Morning.
Will never play here again .
Fun course, terrible pace
Played here a couple weeks ago and it was great, played again Saturday afternoon and it was terrible. 5hr 30min round is ridiculous. Waiting on every hole and the harder holes we had up to 4 groups backed up. No Marshall in sight enforcing POP. I saw guys in t-shirts with cutoff sleeves and slippers. Seriously need to shrink the game.
Bunkers
Overall the course was in good shape except for the bunkers which were hard a rock.
Fun course
La Mirada GC is a fun course to play. The course is very forgiving with plenty of parallel holes with few OBs. The course is very well maintained and the greens were in great shape. The pace of play was excellent, we finished 18 in less than 4 1/2 hours. I highly recommend it. The course used to be in bad shape, but has since become a very good course to play.
Greens are much much better than befire
Closeness to me and good layout makes this place good to play but bunkers are mostly rock hard and many spots in the fairway have grass 4-5-6 in tall that makes you feel like US open conditions. Yes sand is expensive but if they are raked, it could be much better
Fun layout
Sunday July 19th around 12 noon. The Open, World Cup and it was hot. All happening on the same day so the course was empty. Played a very causal pace with a foursome and finished in 4 hrs.
Overall course conditions were fine. Tee boxes are good, fairways had some bald spots but overall ok, greens were on the slow side but were relatively smooth, Traps were pretty firm like many munis are.
