The Club Renaissance
About
The beautifully manicured, par-72 Renaissance Golf Course features two distinctive nines. The front nine has an open links feel to it with wide fairways and greens that will accept bump-and-run approach shots. The back nine requires more accuracy from tee to green as it meanders through a large conservation area. Water comes into play on every hole on the inward nine on this course designed by Chip Powell. Most fairways are lined with stately pines and ancient oaks. The greens at the Renaissance Golf Club are a pleasure to putt. These TifEagle Bermuda grass putting surfaces are state-of-the-art and roll fast.

My dear wife teeing off Photo submitted by strybosch on 02/17/2015
Disappointing at best. Greens are horrible… they are close to losing them all together. Huge bare spots just filled with sand. Bunkers in sad shape…. It seems they are doing just enough to keep this course open. Conditions are not good at all. Will not play here again.
Good course for the money
Overall, this was a good value ($67) compared to what other similar courses at the same price point in the area are. It's obviously a bit dry with so little rain right now, but everything was very playable. The greens had recently been punched but were otherwise in good shape. It's not the most memorable course ever in terms of layout, but it's worth playing for those looking for solid conditions at this price.
Pretty course
Good condition considering the drought. Greens were difficult. Some were with sand and some were rolled. Recently aerated.
A Very Good Day’s Golf
Considering the lack of rain, the course is in remarkably good condition. The greens still have a fair amount of sand, but they roll well and are very fast.
Millionaires golf for the first 14 holes but then caught up with a fairly clueless two ball who clearly didn’t have a clue about golfing etiquette, resulting in the final 4 holes taking the best part of an hour to complete. A shame.
Just a little disappointing
The course layout is great and condition of tees and fairways were good, only disappointment was that the greens had obviously just been punched and heavily sanded, and there was no information prior to booking or teeing off that this was the case.
Pin placements were very interesting, i think the greenkeeper must have had a bad night before 😂
Would definately go back when greens are a little less rough
I know there's a drought, but...
Course is in horrible shape. They aerated the greens which are now completely covered with sand terribly bumpy. I know there is a terrible drought going on right now but the course is virtually unplayable. Everything is burned out. My buddy and I played it a couple times two months ago and it was fine back then. I would not recommend this course to anyone in it's current condition. I should have read current reviews before booking so that's on me.
The course is in great condition. The greens had been punched recently but they still rolled well
Great day on Course
Snowbird, one of my new favorites. community golf course, holes lead one to the next, not overlooking three or four holes from where you stand. Good condition, fast, large greens. Pace of play has been excellent.
Not worth the Price
Paid near $70. Can get better golf for $35-45 around the area . Yes, Tampa has been short of rain this year but comparing to other courses Bald spots in some fairways, aeration on greens without listing, fair tee boxes. Not worth asking price, can get a better value almost anywhere at the moment.
Kinda disappointed !
I've played this course several times over the years and I've always enjoyed the course and the staff. This is the first time that the course wasn't up to my expectations. Fairways were not great. The greens had been airiated recently and were sanded very unevenly so they were not consistent. I brought two groups that hadn't played the course previously and I apologized to them because I had bragged about how nice it was. I hope to see it back in great shape in the future.
They had recently done some work on a few of the greens including aeration and top dressing. A few holes looked really bad but still putted fairly true. Fairways were firm and dry but in decent shape given the drought conditions. Pace of play was great and we finished in under four hours.
I would suggest that they improve the directions to the driving range which is a mile down the road. Just saying turn down the street and find the old abandoned course is not sufficient. Maybe add a sign or two.
