Texas Rangers Golf Club

The cart paths are as far away from the fairways and greens as I have ever seen- the architect went overboard here. In addition, some of the holes were "cart paths only" even though we have not had rain for weeks. Directional signage is lacking as well. The parking brake on our cart did not work well.

A large bag of range balls was $19 - we all thought that was egregious.

Although bottled water is provided in the carts, the only drinking water I saw on the course was at the oddly planned restroom on #17 tee.

The layout is not memorable and is overpriced at regular rates.

I cannot think of anything to make the experience better other than turning down the thermostat! Fortunately there is ample opportunity to find shade. Staff was outstanding. Range very well appointed. Course in great condition. We will be back. Thanks.

The course is nice; however, the greens have some issues. There are dead spots and uncorrected ball marks on many of the greens.

Got to the course check in was quick. Got the cart loaded headed to the range to warm up. Had to go back to the pro shop to buy range balls. 12 dollars for a small bag of range balls. No one said a word when checking in that we would have to purchase range balls. Tee boxes are so so , some good some burned up. Same for the greens, some ok, some not great. Not worth the Hot Deal price...

The Good: Staff is as friendly as any in DFW. Good food and drink at the restaurant. Practice facilities are really nice.

The not-as-good: Most bunkers unraked and some had weeds growing from the edges. Some hole locations were ? for playing in a 20-30mph south wind (as forecasted). On-course it was clear most players have no idea of etiquette or courtesy.

The really bad: The greens. What is going on with the greens? Most had almost no grass, seems to have been punched recently (again), and several were dirt. For a premium course at mostly premium prices, this was the most disappointed I have ever been in green conditions. Simply unputtable. A random 15 foot putt would bounce 3 inches in the air and get hit by the wind. Several greens appeared to have been scraped or feet drug across the holes. Pictures attached.

The annoying: 'Alerts' coming thru the GPS about driving near bunkers when your cart was on the cart path. Ads after every hole on the GPS. Carts being forced to reverse out of the middle of the fairway on several holes (Not CPO). I actually drove the cart in reverse for an entire hole.....

Definitely not worth the time or money if you want to play serious golf. Good golf course, unplayable greens. Too many good golf courses (Texas Star/Waterchase) nearby with soo much better greens.

i have never lost so many balls in the short rough, you actually could not see ball unless you are right on top of it. The lay out is great the one hole maybe 15/16 looked a bit like you were on mars with all the rock.

The layout and pace of play is worth the $$ alone. The greens were very soft and it appears they are overwatered to try and keep them alive. Unfortunately I’d say that come late July and August they won’t be alive. Sorry. I will play again but they need to figure out what’s happening with their greens. S

I had a 7:40 am tee time on a Saturday morning; finished 18 in 3 hours and 59 minutes, which was crazy fast compared to what I'm used to on Saturday morning at a public course. Fairways bunkers, and tee boxes were in excellent shape. The greens were very, very fast, but you could tell they had been recently punched; if they can the greens to fill in, then the conditions would be perfect: practice range and chipping/putting greens were specious and in great shape. The club house and amenities are top-notch, and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely play here again.

Cart had no scorecard. The computer didn't work. no marshall anywhere all day. on hole six we called the pro shop and they sent out a new cart. Played behind a slow foursome who had 3+ clear holes ahead of them. Greens were terrible. Dirt showing in many places. Burnt. Putting was horrible experience. Texas Ranger Golf Club was our favorite course. Not sure we are ever coming back.

The overall course condition was great but looked like they had just punched their greens. Glad I got a hot deal at a good price. It’ll be great in a few weeks when greens heal.

Amazing and fun course with a great mix of longer and shorter holes. Conditions were amazing and well worth the price. I was disappointed in the pace of play. My 4 some was on pace to play in under 3.5 hours but ended up being over 4 hours. The group in front of us had us waiting on every shot starting at hole 3. Understandably no Marshall on a Wednesday, but do wish the GPS would have alerted the staff that there were several open holes ahead of them

It's a fun course; some holes are challenging, but I'd say it's great for average players. The par 3s are very short, and some of the bunkers need a bit of work. Overall, it's a good course.

Really enjoyed this course and good value for the condition. We played peak time Saturday morning and played in less than 4 hours with plenty of time between groups
