The Club at Los Rios
About
The Club at Los Rios opened in the early 1970s with a Don January and Billy Martindale design that takes advantage of eight small ponds and a creek that winds through the layout.
Water is in play on over half of the holes, including the opening 485-yard par 5 that features two ponds in play off the tee, and another fronting the green.
Two very difficult holes stand out on this narrow, shot-maker’s course. No. 7 goes 431 yards but allows for a huge tee shot with a generous fairway, which will definitely help on the dicey approach over the creek into a shallow green. On the par 5 No. 14, water crosses the fairway three times from the back tees.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Pkwy. east until it dead ends at Los Rios Blvd. Turn left onto Los Rios Blvd. And continue on for 1 mile to Country Club Dr. Turn right and drive a short distance to the course–look for the entrance on the right side of the street.

Club house was ok....
I know that the course was flooded the previous weekend but fairways were below average....were not even mowed at all during the week...
Meh
Course layout is nice. No sand on the course but water in places. Course is 1/3 under repair or just no one cares enough to really take care of it. Could be a great course w some TLC.
Great value
The course was a little soggy due to all the rain but was in great shape. The only negative to my experience was the pro shop staff, the gentlemen didn’t appear to want to be there, I would expect a whole lot more friendliness so that more folks would want to play this hidden gem. I hope someone convinces the pro shop staff to move on to something else they enjoy more. Not sure I’ll ever be back until the staff changes.
Don't be fooled with the picture
Too start with it..It hard to locate the entry into the club. The club house is need updated and bathroom I felt as if I need to take a shot after using the restroom. The staff was to busy talking among themselves to address you and welcoming was unheard of. I had to back to the truck and get my protection just in case. The course wasn't nice at all. Greens were bumpy and fairway full of weeds. Please don't waste your money or time.
Poor
Very poorly maintained. You can see that at one time this was a very nice facility. Too bad.
Great value
I have been playIng here for several years. It is not your PGA or Country Club course. However, the value is great. Especially for beginners and leisure players. This is Texas and surprise by the brutal summers, all courses have some ground cracking. This location is no exception. The greens roll fairly true with mild elevation changes. Some of the holes are protected by water that brings more advanced skill into play but overall, it is a fairly straight forward course with no sand traps due rovers the flood plains. I bring the wife here regularly and this is where I taught all of my kids to play. The amenities have changed a little in the wrong direction but as long as the ladies restroom in clean and the wife is happy, we can’t make due. Overall, we enjoy playing here and tuning our game or teaching others.

Huge cracks on the fairway.
Hard ground, had to hammer our tees into the ground.
Greens bumpy and missing chunks of grass.
Not worth the money.

I’m sorry I just found this course
The course isn’t in the best shape, but the layout brings me back. Forced carries, island green (ish) beautiful creeks running through. Every hole is unique and none are plain.
Great spot
Great course, a little burned but t was 105 our when we played.
