A Thinking Course
I enjoyed playing this course. A good test of risk and reward. This is because there are quite a lot of ditches and lakes that make you think about club selection.
Course was in good condition on a very hot day. We did struggle with a couple of the tees in terms of knowing what tee to use. We will know next time. This is because ostensibly it is a 9 hole course with some of the holes having different tee boxes for the front and back nine.
Would I play this course again and the answer is yes. This course in no way deserves a one star rating and those that have done so are showing their ignorance or have ulterior motives.
Stay Away
Brought a friend along to enjoy what was last year a well kept tricky 18 hole flat parkland couse... Should of been informed at point of booking that it's now a 9 hole joke of mish mashed holes... Greens the worst I've ever experienced.. Tee boxes all mixed up with GUR areas everywhere. So sad to see 9 holes bulldozered away for 160 holiday homes. Don't visit.. Greens are truly shocking
Changed not for good
Used to be a nice 18 holes course, been changed to a 9 with still work being carried out. Loads ground under repair and temp tee areas. Green not been maintained so different types grass growing at different lengths, not even been rolled
Reduced to nine holes
This was a full 18 hole course when we last visited. Now, there are only 9 holes (18 tees) and hundreds of new holiday lodges. The course was in OK condition unfortunately there were many temporary tees because of the lodge construction. Nowhere near as nice as it used to be.
The clubhouse is very new and very smart however there was no food available and the bar was closed.
Brean was a lovely little course with some tricky holes now it has been absolutely ruined & basically your playing golf on a building site with most tee
Boxes unfinished .
You are now just surrounded by static caravans with more to come & no bar or food facilities
Gone down hill
Played last year when it was an 18 hole course and thought it was really good value, some nice holes with plenty of variety. It is now a 9 hole course in terrible condition, greens were not worth putting on, tees really hard despite it not been to hot and dry of late, loads of GUR, no yardage boxes or mention on the tee boxes. I paid for 18 holes and walked off after 9, I won’t be returning
Course butchered down to a 9 hole venue
Have been visiting this course for many years. Booked as usual through golf now, arrived and walked towards what was the first tee to find it has been concreted over and covered with caravans as has the entire left hand side of the course. Still advertising on here as an 18 hole course when it is now 9 and you play each hole twice off different tees. Lots of waiting with people playing the same hole from different tees. Spoke to many members who are devastated that this once lovely course has now been destroyed. Will never play again.
Avoid all cost
No longer 18 holes,
Complete rubbish. Play at your peril.
Course butchered
This is no longer an 18 hole golf course.
Redevelopment with static holiday plots are where once a charming golf course once was!
Genuinely shocked.
I will not be back and a waste of my hard earned money!
Now a 9 hole course under development
I was not aware at the time of booking that this course has now been reduced to a 9 hole course. The owners are converting much of the old course into static park home accommodation. This should have been flagged at the point of booking
Nice flat course needing accurate play
Nice day out at this course next to the amusement park. Nice and flat but with lots of gully's and water streams running across the course making this a hard course to score well for high handicappers like me. Would be a challenge for better golfers to judge their distances.
Nice clean course
Clean course, bunkers are the best I’ve played on. The greens could be in better condition but playable. Abit expensive for the green conditions but not terrible.
Enjoyable afternoon
I enjoyed my round however it was quite a tight course. Didn't use my driver until the 8th hole, however I had a new 9 iron and had plenty of chances ro use it.
Excellent
What very enjoyable round of golf, Helpful staff, course was set up well and enjoyable.
Really enjoyable
Gives you good variety of scenery, lovely sections and additions around the course, hut at the start of hole 1, not much good for me but great for smokers or just to have 2mins before you tee off, also one at the end on hole 18. The bar area was lovely and staff in the clubhouse were helpful both times I visited, meaning it was so good I went back for more golfing torment in the wind the next day.
Challenge completely depends on weather conditions based on it being on the coast but all in great experience
