Isle of Wedmore Golf
Beautiful Course
very friendly/helpful staff
Course played really well.
This course offered great value. The winter and excessive rainfall have held this course back. The course offers a tough challenge especially in the wind. We would like to return once the weather picks up and try to beat the 3 consecutive par 5s which proved more than challenging especially in the wind.
Isle of Wedmore Feb 26
‘Did’ something I love on Valentine’s Day - played golf! (£40 each for a 3 ball via GN on a Sunday at 9am).
Looked for somewhere hopefully not too soggy on the first day of the year (2026) without rain!
Isle of Wedmore usually drains well into the Mendip valley and it sure had. Fairways were nice and dry. soft as expected, but dry. No slushy puddles. Ball could still plug from height, but so much drier than any other course we’ve played around Bristol, since Oct 25.
Very friendly, chatty and welcoming chap in the Club Shop, especially as we were GolfNow Guests. Smooth check in. Offered loads of advice (even tho’ we’ve been before). Only downside was that 11th, 12th & 13th holes were closed! Would have expected prior notice of this, when booking!
Lovely facilities (putting green, nets, changing room, toilets, clubhouse, Pro Shop etc).
Surprisingly still playing the majority of Tee shots from grass Tee boxes, with a mix of mats.
Green were in excellent condition for the time of year and recent weather.
Allocated a (realistic) average score of a Par & 2 Bogey’s for the 3 closed holes, and scored 41 Pts, so over the moon.
Clubhouse does excellent food, both snacks, meals and a lovely Sunday Roast.
Love to play this course a few times a year, especially in the (dry) Summer when the ball rolls on, especially on the long Par 5’s.
Will definitely be back.
Great Winter venue, if the price is right.
Lovely looking clubhouse and coarse
The clubhouse and staff were great and service in pro shop very good as I had to book a battery trolley with winter wheels as coarse was pretty wet in places.. the coarse itself would be great when it’s drier and would be a totally different experience .even though it rained most of the round (which I don’t normally play in rain) I throughly enjoyed the coarse and looking forward to playing our club day away there in may
Make sure you read the Terms & Conditions before booking
Our Golf Society recently visited the Isle of Wedmore course again for almost the 15th year in a row. With a change of our Secretary within the society the course failed to mention there new non refundable refund. After confirming numbers and paying the full balance a week in advance, two of the society members had to pull out on the day, due to illness, but the course refused to refund there money or at least offer a credit as a gesture of goodwill. There T&C's state that no refunds will be returned unless confirming more than 48 hours in advance. However, there T&C's also state that the organiser goes free if more than 16 players are booked in. Unfortunately, we have never been given a free round over the years despite having usually low to mid 20's turn up!! Unfortunately, this year for various reasons we only had 13 play in the end!! No other course we play at which is upwards of 15 courses per season implement such T&C's and they are very accommodating. However, the Isle of Wedmore in our opinion have let themselves down and can learn a lot from the management decisions from other courses. We will now not be returning any time soon which is disappointing as the course itself is usually pretty good.
Great course and well maintained
I played the course today something I have been meaning to do for years. I was thoroughly impressed with the condition of the course and the greens, The fairways were lush and cut beautifully, the greens were fast but responsive to chip into.
I really enjoyed my round with my son who is new to golf and I will return another day to take the challenge on again.
Great course
The course is presented in excellent condition, with tee boxes, fairway aprons, and greens all well maintained despite the recent dry spell. The only minor drawback was a lake undergoing repairs and a few ball washers containing dirty water from retrieved balls. Overall, it was a very enjoyable round, highlighted by achieving my lowest score to date. I look forward to returning to play again.
Excellent
First time playing the course as a visitor. Warm welcome in pro shop, matched by that at the bar ordering a fine lunch.
Course was well presented and organised , will definitely return.
Wow
Wow what great course, fairways are wide and receptive the good weather has helped the ball fly so you can hit the greens in 1or 2 shots on some par 4s.
Excellent
Great value for money, greens, tees bunkers all kept in great condition, running fast with the recent sunshine. Nice water features and interesting course layout.
Friendly staff and great facilities.
Will be returning!
Isle of Wedmore
Beautiful golf course in an idyllic setting, lovely sunny morning round with good practice facilities to warm up in. Very good course conditions and pure greens, lovely views throughout the round which helps some average golf at times! Will definitely be back soon for sure, highly recommend!
Great Course
A great course, really enjoyable with plenty of varied holes to keep it interesting. Staff were friendly, good practice area and an ok clubhouse. The course ‘regulars’ weren’t particularly friendly was the only downside.
Wedmore experience
Fantastic course in top condition, clubhouse and staff friendly and top notch, would highly recommend.
