St. Marlo Country Club

Nine greens were closed with temporary greens. Seven of the greens are open or on playable.

9 greens are.burnt out and using temporary greens. The 4 in play are.almost as bad. Ive been playing here for years, this is the worst ive seen ANYWHERE. The greens all.need to be replaced. There was NO NOTICE provided to/by golf.now, just a last minute email sent out 1 hour priormto.tee off. The course is unplayable, we wont be coming back anytime soon.

No greens. Even the 9 “alternate greens” they set up in front of the dead ones were not playable. The other 9 had 4” of sand on top of them. No Rangers. We quit after 3 holes after a group jumped in front of us when we were loading up from the bev cart in anticipation of a 5.5 hour round of whatever we were supposed to be playing out there. Just tell people you are closed until your greens improve and have trained staff to manage the slow play once you’re open. It’s not that hard. I felt bad for the staff who had to try to talk guests off the ledge because someone at the front office made the wrong call to stay open.

Nine of their greens were terrible so they had makeshift greens, they lowered the lawnmower blade made a circle about 15 foot diameter. Put a 6 in.² cup in the middle of the makeshift green. I was told that it was on Golf Now about the makeshift greens, but could find it, and they only gave $5 off for the inconvenience. I did go back and find where it said that the greens were temporary, but I’d never do that that bad.The problem is there was no other course I would be able to go to the last second and find a tee time.

1/2 of the greens are temporary 12 ft diameter made out of part of the fairway with an extra large cup. The remaining greens are in rough shape. The rest of the course and facility is nice. I like this course but not sure what happened to the greens.

Nine of the 18 holes had temporary greens on Labor Day. They say they will be back in business in six weeks, but I find that hard to believe. Overall, I enjoyed the course but if I would’ve known that half of the greens were temporary, I would’ve played somewhere else at this time.

I’ve played the course multiple times and like it. However, this time I showed up to hear that they had NINE temporary greens (something not disclosed by St Marlo OR GolfNow). When we played the round we then saw horrible conditions even beyond the temporary greens, drenching the course in an effort to get the greens in better shape. Shouldn’t have stayed open for play.

We enjoyed our round on St. Marlo’s even tho 9 greens were temporary greens. They at least made an effort to make temporary greens by mowing the temporary green to a reasonable putting height and installing oversized cups. We know the heat has been hard all around so we’re trying to give grace for the challenges the course superintendent faces. Hopefully, the greens will be in better shape the next time we play.

They had nine temporary greens. I hope they plan to fix them but It didn’t look like they were trying to repair the greens. The other active 9 greens were not in the best condition.

It’s a nice course that has a lot of potential if they fix the greens.

St. Marlo notified players who have played here previously about the green situation, so I took advantage of the reduced price and worked on my driving and approach shots during a quick round as a single.

Played a few months ago, thought it was a great track. Was disappointed I wasted my golf now points on that course. 9 temp greens, hard to believe. I am in the turf management business and seen these things happen. Usually many heads role and people lose their jobs. Good luck trying too get the greens back in this heat.

Nine of the greens were closed when we made reservations nobody ever notified that they had the problem to the power for fairways were completely closed no cards not a good experience

Course is in terrible shape. No warning at all about the 9 temporary greens and the other 9 in bad shape too. I won’t play this course again for a very long time.
