You better off going somewhere else for better value.
First time playing here. Course has such great potential. Never seen so many divots un repaired on greens. Pace a play was like a Muni course in the city five hours and not a single martial scene. For $100 you could find other courses in the area for a few dollars more like echelon or a little less like River Pines and basically get the same course conditions or something nicer. Not sure what the standards are for those reviews before me, but I play every week and love playing public courses, but this one is overpriced right now for piece of play and overall conditions. Many tea boxes are bare or only half grass right now. On a positive the staff is super friendly
Not worth $100
I used to be a member of this course and it has definitely declined since I left 3 years ago. The greens were in great shape, the fairways were decent, but everything else was lacking. The pace of play was slow (close to 5 hrs) and many of the tee boxes were sand and not level.
If you can get a tee time in the $60 it would be worth it, but not $96 with a small bucket of balls.
Nice day and course
Everything was very good except for the cart paths which had numerous cracked pavements.
Played with Tom, Assostanr Pro
Despite no real rain lately, the course was in very good shape overall. One of the best public courses in the area without question. They put me and another single out with Tom Bevins, the Assistant Pro at St. Marlo! Super friendly, knowledgeable and easy going guy, besides being a great golfer! I’ve played here often and will be back!
Excellent public course with a private feel
I always love playing here. The course is great with staff and is maintained very well. Great atmosphere to play in too.
Nicest course I’ve played in Atlanta
This is a very high end course in a gated John’s Creek subdivision. The course is a beautiful semi-private country club, nicer than Château Elon, Eschalon or Lake Lanier in my opinion. Five Stars
Spring blooms and very green
Today was likely the best weather in some time and the course was in excellent shape. Pace was quick (3:30 for 18) with very few pauses on the tee box.
Greens are really good
All really good except cart parts are in need of repair.
Our cart charger not working.
Great course, very fun round
I enjoyed the challenge level as an intermediate player, challenging enough and fun course. Due to time of year, March, carts on cart path only, but it was fine, we had perfect weather (62-64 degrees), not many people in front or behind to hinder us (4pm tee time), and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Will definitely golf again!
Good course but not a value
The course is in better shape than last year. Sand traps are actually sand this year and fairways are good. The cart paths are terrible. They have been for years. No idea why they don't fix them. It has to be hard on the golf carts. The price is too high for what you get. For a few more dollars you could play Echelon, Bears Best or Lake Lanier. Again, the course is solid just not a $120 good.
Love St Marlo
Got ouy on time. pace of play under 4 hours.
Course is in good shape for late March
I do recommend
Overally the course condition is good. The course layout is bery fun to play for the mid-level players, not for the beginners. I will do rounding again in near future.
North Atlanta needs more public golf
$115 for mandatory cart path only during the month of March, while the course conditions are average at best is absurd. Look I get it. There isn’t enough public golf in the area to make them change their prices. It’s simply the law of supply and demand. Quite a few tee boxes with nothing but sand, the cart path is in terrible shape, and the bunkers and fairways were nothing more than average. They’ve missed the mark by about $40 but people continue to pay it because there’s not enough other options, so why would they try too hard to make it worth the money.
St. Marlo’s is well worth the visit
Our family visited for 18 holes on a Sunday. The stater was very friendly. Pace of play was not backed up at all, which was great for 70 degree weekend golf. A beautiful, well maintained, and challenging course was a perfect opportunity for us to play. I’d highly recommend this as a treat course. Reed was the starter for us and was great!
Great course poor drainage
It’s early but - it rained two days prior and course was not well cared for. It’s early so no worries. What was troubling was it was cart path only and the fairways needed attention and yet price was still 80 bucks. A warning about conditions would have been nice
