Bear's Best Atlanta

The course overall was in very good shape - greens are in good condition and fairways are nice. The positives - 1) very good customer service as you park your car and they take your clubs - very nice gentleman in the cart helping this process and also when you get to carts, individual was very nice. 2) Course and carts are in good condition and was good to see a grass practice area though very little grass in the practice area. 3) Not a hard course and can score with decently played shots. Negatives - 1) if paying full price for the round, it’s wildly overpriced with many other courses that are superior for much less. 2) Pace of play could be better but did move along pretty well. 3) Second time playing here and confirmed initial impression - short course (even from tips) that will test your iron play. Overall - good to throw in the rotation if getting a good deal.

Save your time and money and do not play here. The price when I booked vs the price I paid were not the same. When asked about it the golf shop employee said I was wrong and the original price never existed. The pace of play was abysmal, with too many groups being sent out. I recommend anywhere but here for a nice round of golf.

Started at 12:45 front 9 ok but back 9 got jammed for some reason. The cart kept showing us getting behind but never saw the Ranger and didn't get to play hole 18 because it was after 5:00 . Carts had to be back by sundown and there was 2 groups on 18 . Almost 5 hours and still didn't get to play number 18 😡

This has been my go-to course for when I want a truly special afternoon with my son. It's just a notch above most, if not all, the other public courses....and has been that way for years. The holes are challenging but fair, course is always well-maintained, and the facilities are top notch.

Greens are rolling true and fast. Group in front of us was very slow and had course wide open in front of them, but we called the pro shop at the turn, they sent out a marshal, and things got much better after that. Fun spot

Great and fun course. Love the layout and conditions were great. Only negative which has nothing to do with the maintenance, players need to FIX their ball marks! They are all over the greens.

Enjoyed this course a lot. Even though its a mix of random holes, the design is fantastic. Conditions are good but the greens were really slow and soft for what I was expecting. Lots of pitch marks. The only negative I have would be pace of play. Multiple 4somes ahead of us and we teed off at 1:12 when sundown is 5:20. There were groups that teed off behind us so im sure they didn’t finish. Would like to play again in the summer if I could get a deal around $75. Would not pay the usual $90-$110 that this course usually asks for.

Beautiful course with a class act from the time you arrive. Friendly staff, great layout… and some rough that you’ve not seen.

20 Handicap, so I’m not awesome… but 2 feet off the most amazing fairways… and your ball is gone.

Love how they have a pace of play chart in the cart, and for the most part all were right on it.

It’s not an easy course to recover from a bad tee shot, but it is a great course to hone your skills.

My nomadic golfer group will certainly add this to our rotation.

I called and spoke to the pro shop stating we were playing to celebrate a grooms mans wedding . I also stated if I could play for the price that Golf Now offered at $85 per person . The gentleman on the phone asked if I wanted the time and price that Golf Now offered and that he would gladly offer it . When we got to the course , we ended up paying $135 per person and they did not offer the GN rate ! . I will not go back there again , and we have another wedding 2026 but it looks like twelve of us will be heading to Cinnamons this time .

Greens are still recovering from aeration and people don’t seem to care about fixing ball marks. Pace of place is slow on the weekends so expect to be at least 30 mins behind. We teed off at 3 and only played 13 holes by 7 o’clock. Thats over 18 minutes per hole.

I had some buddies come in and I knew they would enjoy Bears Best. It was a 5 hour round but not completely surprised. All parts of the course were in good shape. The rough was pretty punishing (ball would settle below grass and it was nearly impossible to find).

Great course. Was a 4:40 hour round, but it was a Saturday. Bunkers in good shape and fairways immaculate.

Recently played Bear’s Best and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations—especially considering the premium price point.

Greens: Despite being freshly aerated, we were still charged full price. The condition was poor, making putting frustrating and inconsistent.

Tee Boxes: Many were in rough shape, uneven and patchy, which detracted from the overall playing experience.

Second Cut: Surprisingly tall—so much so that we lost balls in it multiple times. It felt more like rough than a manageable second cut.

Staff: Fairly mundane and not particularly helpful. At times, they seemed more in the way than supportive, which was disappointing for a course of this reputation.

Pace of Play: Generally okay, but we hit several backups. What was frustrating was being asked to speed up while waiting on three groups ahead of us.

Overall, Bear’s Best didn’t deliver the quality or service expected for the price. Hopefully, they address these issues soon, because the layout has potential—but the current conditions and experience don’t justify the cost.

Course was awesome! Absolutely fulfilled its intention with the tribute course. Conditions were great. Course was challenging but not so challenging that it became frustrating. I will absolutely visit this course again when in the greater Atlanta area.
