Penmar Golf Course

first time back at golf since knee surgery

was a great walking course and on a hot day plenty of shade and benches...some holes tough enough to challenge

I like Penmar. Kt's my home club. I've only played a handful of times. It's a short walk and a lovely day. Even by LA standards it is soooo slow. 10:10 tee was inly 10 minutes delayed. Two hours and twenty minutes later we were starting the 9th but I had to bounce. I played an afternoon round last month that took more than 3 hours. Fivesomes every 10 minutes. But what can they do? It'e oversubscribed and fully booked all the time. Just be ready for a short walk and a long day :)

There was a sixsome in front of us. We were only able to complete six holes. The group in front of us were beginners and the wait was awful.

Very well kept greens that roll true and great shorter course that allows you to have relatively short second shots into the nice greens. Plays in about 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Very accessible and open course. The price is also not that bad. It’s only 9 which stinks but this place is really cool on the weekends as well.

Great place to get in a good nine and a great bar restaurant to go with it.

I mean....i get its public and right in the middle of the city, but there are workers leaf blowing and weed whacking right on the tee as youre trying to hit. and there was a staff person watering the green as im putting...Marshal lady was very rude. i mean i guess its "cute" and funny and charming in some way but she came up to us during the game and was rude to a person in our party, then proceeded to drive the golf cart across the green....adding a little class would go a long way

Penmar is a decent little 9-hole course tucked away in Venice, great for a casual round or to fine-tune your short game. That said, it plays very slow—be prepared for backups, especially on weekends. The greens could use some love; they’re often littered with tree debris and not consistently maintained, which can get frustrating. No golf carts available here, so bring your walking shoes and be ready for a light workout. Still, despite its flaws, there’s something charming about Penmar. It’s a relaxed, affordable spot to squeeze in a quick round or just work on your swing.

Course was in great condition, did play a little slow. But overall was a good time and fun track.

First time playing here. Simple easy layout. In good condition especially the greens that were rolling fast and true. Pace of play was a little long (2.5 hr for 9 holes) but had a fun time.
