Practice Course
Westchester is where I go to Practice, the driving range is pretty decent a lot of Matt's available with little to no wait times.
The course is a Short yardage 18 holes that has only one Par 5 hole It's fairways are tightly packed and to play well you have to be a straight hitter. Alas people are all over the place and play from adjoining fairways often.
Greens are ok for the amount of use they're subjected to. So it's a pretty good place to take the range on to the course and practice
RUDE Starter
Overall the course was fine. First 9 holes are short and a little crowded. The back half of the holes were longer and had more real estate. The issue with this course is the Starter. He was rude, unfriendly and just unpleasant to everyone I saw him interact with. What an awful way to start the course; some guy barking at you with WHAT? He's the only person you interact with on a course and it was a terrible experience.
Great course
Course played great.some holes long.rough not forgiving.greens in great shape.
Play it for what it is..
For $25, you are playing a place next to LAX. The extreme wind (3 club...) that day blew debris & huge dead fronds everywhere so it was a mess. The dust from the dirt driving range blew around too. The layout of the first 2 holes will never facilitate good pace of play. No. 2 is a par 4 water hole, so it will never be fast. The track is very walkable, and fun once you get going. The pace opened after 4 holes. Greens weren't too bad, fairways pretty scrappy so we were rolling over to find good lies. The lit course is novelty, but you really can't see your ball. We used glow balls when it got dark so that was kind of fun. Good place to take your family, maybe not your high end clients.
Great Practice Course
This course is great, for the price, easily walkable course and just fun to practice. My buddy and I booked an early tee time - 6:30am, honestly the best decision as there was no one playing behind us for at least 8 holes (but my buddy and I played very so slow that finally caught up to us).
Greens are great, fairways are money (when you hit em) and just so good to practice.

Very Disappointing
I had a 2pm tee time on Saturday afternoon. I’d expect the course to be a bit slow but not this bad. Majority if not all courses implemented a 10 minute between groups as a way of fighting COVID-19 by avoiding large group gatherings and adhering to social distancing - this course does not support that initiative. The starter must’ve been new because his attitude doesn’t not align to the others. I patron this course weekly for its range and have always been greeted kindly by the other starters. This guys response was “what do you want” and made sure that everyone teed off as soon as they were called. What he failed to address was the 20 minute plus & 5 groups waiting on the 2nd tee! That is no exaggeration, the course or Golf Advisor can confirm that with anyone that teed off between 1:30-2:30pm. I’ve never seen such a thing and especially didn’t expect that during these times. I know that Westchester is a favorable course for starters so maybe my expectations should’ve been lowered however all I was hoping for was for a round of 18 holes. I left at 5pm as a front nine on this course should NEVER take 3hrs, my buddies that chose to stick it out wrapped up at 7:20pm! This course must’ve gone through a recent GM change or he must be on vacation because this course for the most part has been structured and organized. However, today’s showing was ridiculous. What happened to the multiple Marshall’s the course used to operate with? There are “guidelines” somewhere on the course that nobody really cares for and aren’t enforced. Come on Westchester! You’re far better than this!
DON’T BOTHER
As a local in the Westchester area, I played here all the time pre-COVID. It was easy to get tee times and we could pretty much walk over and tee off whenever. But now that golf is the only thing people can do and everyone on the planet has picked it up, those glory days are long gone. This place is booked solid ALL DAY EVERY DAY. And they’re sending groups off every eight minutes, which is leading to enormous backups and absolutely excruciating pace of play. Seven-hour rounds are not uncommon. The last time we played here, there were FOUR groups waiting to tee off on the second hole and people were giving up and walking off. We gave up after battling through the front nine at nearly the pace it should’ve taken to play 18. I’ve heard the same from countless friends and others I’ve talked to. Unless you’re chill with waiting 10-15 minutes to tee off on every hole or are a masochist, seriously, don’t bother.
