Crane's Landing at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort

About
Crane's Landing Golf Club is the centerpiece of Lincolnshire Marriott Resort. Designed by George Fazio, the course winds across 110 acres of preserved woodlands. It is a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary that offers stunning views of the Des Plaines River nearby. At just over 6,300 yards, the golf course is not particularly lengthy but it still offers some formidable challenges. Water is a prominent feature of the course with ponds and a winding river coming into play on 12 holes. The greens are small and raised and the sculpted fairways are tightly lined with mature trees, demanding accuracy off the tee. Crane's Landing Golf Club's back nine is especially difficult thanks to the river, which runs along the entire left side of the 13th hole and also appears on no. 17, the course's longest hole.

Needs Work
This course has an excellent layout. Fair but challenging. The staff is great, very friendly and helpful. They are doing the best they can with a course that needs help.
It would be nice to have at least short order sit down table service. This is a resort course.
The course is in rough shape. The weather has been hard on courses in the area this year. Nonetheless, other courses in the area have done a much better job of dealing with the challenges. A bigger staff and a bigger budget required?
I want a refund!!
The course failed to let me know there is a league that starts at 8am. A four some cut me off at hole 12 and started playing extremely slow. And were extra rude about me wanting to pass. Ultimately not allowing me to pass them which was insane. Pretty fair to say I should get a refund GolfNow.
Course is in awful shape, not worth the $
The course is in terrible shape. It should be in the $25-$35 price point in this condition. This used to be a decent course but its brutal now.
Need some repair
Tee boxes need repair
They did repair the Sand traps and were in good shape
Terrible pace of play
I was looking forward to playing this course but it took me an hour and 25 min to play 4 holes. I ended up heading to the clubhouse as I still waited at hole 5 to tee off as the group behind me waiting at 5 to tee off as well. The manager showed little understanding as I asked if I could come back another day because the pace of the first four holes had use on pace for a 6 hour plus round. His response was "well that's what happens on a weekend". I think that was far less than acceptable for a course that is deemed as a resort property. I understand that it was a weekend but the fact that he cared litle about the pace or the fact that players were driving all over course without any course etiquette was bothersome. I didnt expect a refund but I thought he may try to compromise but he essentially told me to deal with it or feel free to leave and then walked away.
Trustworthy
Staff members successfully returned patron personal belongings left in the cart. This suggested patron can depend to establishment retrieve left items after course event completed. Thank you for this experience.
First time here, solid
My friend & I were put into a group with a staff employee, Rick, and (I presume) his son. Great guys who shot well, solid course for the money.
There was a minor issue with the cart girl's iPad when trying to buy snacks, but she fixed it after a few minutes. Just wish she came around an extra time since it was hot and I needed more fluids.
Marriott You Have to do Better!!!
It was disappointing to see how bad a shape this course is in for a Marriott Resort owned property.
Tee Boxes, Fairways, Especially the Greens( diseased and bare & patchy for 16 out of 18 greens)
No clear signage showing where next tee box located and what was signage it was old and broken.
I’ve stayed at several Marriotts in the US and always was very satisfied with resort & golf courses were excellent. It appears they need new interested management at Cranes Landing to get up to other Marriott Golf Course High Standards.
Front 9 greens need lots of work
Was disappointed with bumpy front nine greens, majority of fairways too close to each other, expect to lose lots of balls. Back nine in much better condition, but very narrow..Challenging course
