Gentleman running front desk was very rude. teed off, let the group of two behind us play through, then re-teed. He then came out and got mad because we took a long time, and told us to have carts in at 6:30. Then a few holes later a guy came out of the woods trying to sell us golf balls which was weird. On hole 8, it was 6:10. We decided to play that hole and then drive back and skip hole 9 to get the carts in. On our approach shots, we noticed him coming up to us. Instead of a friendly reminder, he began to yell at us that it was a quarter from 6 and that we needed to get the carts in by 6:30. My friend met him and politely explained that we would return the carts immediately after we finished the hole. He did not want to hear it. We again explained we let the people in front of us through, which set us back a little. He then told us they had finished 40 minutes ago (we were a foursome and they were a twosome) and if we didn't have the carts in by 6:30 we would never come back to the golf course (which would be a non-issue anyway). After a little more explaining by us, he told us to just pick up our balls and leave the course. I get wanting the carts in at a certain time, but I dont understand the tyrade before 6:30, and when we had time to bring them back in.
Enjoyed it but not in the greatest shape.
The staff is extremely nice and the layout was enjoyable but general course condition was a bit rough.
Great experience
First and foremost, the service is great and welcoming. I had two starters with me so the time of day allowed them a little extra time to be coached throughout. Great course for beginners to learn the game without the pressure of being rushed.
The Rock is one of my favorite golf courses in the area. The small greens make it a fun challenge and really test your short game. It's close to home, the staff is always excellent, and pace of play is rarely an issue—even on weekends, which can't be said for every course around here.
Since it's a 9-hole course, you can usually get through a round fairly quickly, making it a great option when you're short on time. Overall, it's a fun, well-maintained course that I always enjoy playing and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good round of golf.
I always enjoy playing The Rock, rough was a little long. Lost a few balls but overall it's in pretty decent shape.. the time of day we went we basically had the whole course to ourselves. It was pretty nice. Definitely recommend it
Here’s a cleaner version of your review that keeps your points but reads smoother:
The Rock had just opened that morning, so the grass was still a little long, which made it tough to find balls. The greens, however, were in pretty good shape. I always enjoy playing Rock Springs—its smaller greens make it a little more challenging and keep things interesting. They still have a little work to do to get the course in tip-top shape for the season, but overall it’s a fun course to play.
Great round
Greens in great Bring extra blls because of the leaves
Zero water hazards and minimal sand traps
Enjoyed the round, open fairways, good place for all levels.
