Lockhaven Golf Course

This course is challenging and unique compared to other courses in the area. They have their grounds managed to a competitive level to keep it challenging and fun for good golfers. You’re probably not a good golfer if you don’t enjoy this course. Nice staff also and great six pack prices.

Layout is good. Not mowed, not even personal to run it with amount of golfers one guy running around doing everything. Poor conditions. It’s also funny how I can’t start because it won’t let me so there’s somebody messing with the system keeping you from rating the course appropriately.

Overall this course is a classic.

I went after a heavy rain, so course was lightly flooded here and there.

I would recommend this course.

Greens were nice, good classic layout.

Unfortunately, this course should be closed until the necessary repairs are completed. The tee boxes were covered in sand, and the fairways were in terrible condition. We were actually losing balls in the middle of the fairway because of how rough they were.

Our group did like the course layout and the location, but the overall playing conditions were very disappointing. We paid $50 for nine holes for the two of us, and for that price, I expected the course to be in much better shape. There are several other courses in the area that offer a far better experience for the same cost. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this course until the conditions improve.

Really been hesitant to spend a Saturday morning playing here, since they reopened. I hadn't heard much positive but not anything negative either. Took an early day off and decided to take a chance on a Thursday afternoon, glad I did. It's worth playing, couple tee boxes were bad but many things effect that when it's only 2 or 3 outta 18. I'd spend a Saturday morning round here in the near future.

I can’t believe that they call this a golf course. The pace of play was slow because no one could find their balls, even if it was 1 yard off the fairway. Because I was waiting so long, I had extra time to look for one of my balls, but I eventually just dropped in the general area that I knew I saw it land. When I hit my dropped ball, two balls came out. Both of them mine. In addition to the rough being laughably long, the greens haven’t been cut in ages. You need to pitch from one side of the green to the other because it’s impossible to hit your putter that far with control. I didn’t chip while on the green. But I should have. There is so much clover that you wouldn’t be able to see your ball, even if it was sitting up. Incredibly disappointed. I can’t believe that I drove over 50 miles to check out this course. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Frankly, I think you owe me a half a dozen ProV1s since I lost them on the course! You should be able to see your ball. We are not professionals; we do not have ball spotters. The way you set up your course is just rude.

Good course for the price. Greens are nice. Cool layout. Pace can get pretty slow. Tee boxes need help. I’ll be back.

What a hidden gem . I had heard of some problems at this course and after playing it I would say that all courses have issues in places and nothing here noticeably stood out as extra. The greens rolled excellent and the fairways were cut recently if not the same day. The rough although thick ( as rough should be) was nit unplayable. Some tee boxes were worn and needed smoothing and replanted a bit but there were 5 boxes to chose from which I played from the blue tee markers and most were good condition. The carts were new and clean and the clubhouse had excellent food and beverage choices. From everything I experienced in this visit from the course to the staff I definitely will be back to play again

Played the Senior scramble on Wednesdays for some years now. Never have been disappointed. The course is very Golfer, friendly and accommodating, even during wet weather. The pace has always been good and the staff very accommodating. Food and drink available at any time.

My friends and I had a super fun round at this course for all our first times! There’s some super sick tee shots from the blues. Some of the tee boxes could use work. Greens were very pure. Fairways could certainly use a trim, weeds growing in some areas. Driving range was irons only. I recommend anyone to play at Lockhaven. Felt like we were the only ones on the course!

this is one of the nicest couses around, staff was fantastic, all and all, great experience, highly recommend this course !

I absolutely love this course and everything they offer. The grass is well kept, the staff is always happy to have players, there are regular tournaments almost every month, and even in the off season they have very nice simulators to keep your swing going when the weather is cold. I just can’t say enough good things about Lockhaven and its owner.

I got recommended this course weeks back and decided to finally give it a go. The course has a unique and challenging layout with an inviting atmosphere. The course is in excellent shape with fast greens and well manicured tee boxes. Most importantly amazing beer prices. We’ll be back!

Played there for the first time in years. The course has gotten much worse and was disheartening to see it in poor condition.

The tee boxes were way overgrown and need to be mowed. The fairways were in horrible shape and the grass that was there was very patchy. Nearly every one of the greens had numerous dead patches and made some putts impossible to hit. In fact, we took “relief” a couple of times to give us a clean look that wasn’t through sand, either.

All of it is a bummer as the layout is fun and interesting. Also probably not a great sign to see the course so empty on a perfect Friday afternoon. However at least we didn’t have to wait at all and had the course virtually to ourselves. Can’t see going back any time soon.
