Stonehedge South Course at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort

The second time my wife and I played this Stone edge south course and we enjoyed it very hilly starting out with two big up pills some blind shots and lots of roly-poly undulating terrain with some nice rock walls otherwise known as Stone hedges the leaves were picked up very well and we had a good time. The price was right and a great nice hour and a half ride through the Yankee Springs area through the foliage all we have left to play now is Bedford Valley and the east course

Wife and I have now played Stonehedge south twice and we enjoy that one very much so I like the roly-poly Hills a few blind shots in the rock walls and we caught on one of the most glorious autumn afternoons about 68° no wind and excellent foliage also caught a nice deal on GolfNow for 53 bucks for two of us so we made the hour and a half ride down through Yankee Springs and the back roads which is really a pretty drive instead of going down the highway, but we have now played Gold Lake West Stonehenge north and south in Stoughton Bray the only ones we got left is the east course and Bedford Valley. They do a great job on all these courses that we’ve played so far so I encourage you to play the south course if you like Hills the north course I recall is more a little bit more open little bit more flat not really but little bit more forgiving, but we enjoy going down there once or twice a year, especially when we catch a great deal on GolfNow and the weather is nice

Well kept for the time of year. Beautiful course. My golf game was bad so I was able to explore every inch of it

We were coming from a local country club that was closed for the day because of a tournament, so we were looking for a place to play that was going to be up to our standards. And Stonehedge south definitely met our needs and exceeded our expectations. The south course is a very tight driving challenge. But the fairways and greens were in great shape and everything was a true fair test of golf. Weekend rate is a little high… But it seems like it is everywhere right now. If you see this course and I have decent price on GolfNow, you should definitely play it.

Nice course. Only issue was pace of play. Took almost 5 1/2 hours!!

I have not paid Stonehedge South in over 30 years. The course was in terrific shape in spite of heavy play. The green complexes and course design are entertaining. The course feels like you are plain northern Michigan or the Carolinas.

The staff was welcoming and accommodating to my wife and I.

It was a great renewal of past memories when we first enjoyed Gull Lake together.

Only drawback from otherwise perfect day 5 hour round

Played for $45 including cart. It’s hard to beat the value provided by these courses. High quality track for an unbeatable price.

For a resort course, you would expect better service and more staff. You put your clubs on the bag rack, park the car, load the clubs on a cart, and check in at the Pro Shop. The carts do not have containers with divot mix. As a result, the fairways have many unreplaced and/or unfixed divots. There are no rangers on the course to monitor speed of play. Our round took 4 hours and 50 minutes. The cart paths are in terrible shape and need a lot of repairs. There is no staff available to offer to clean your clubs at the end of the round. Charge $10 more per player and add more service staff.

Course was quite tight, but in spectacular shape, and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Excellent sandwiches and hot dogs at the turn.

Had a fun time playing the course. Not spectacular but a solid course worth playing.

The pace of play on a Saturday afternoon was shockingly horrible even with a Ranger driving around. We had a 2 some in front of us that we waited for on each tee box on back 9 for 5-10 min. It took us 5 hours to play 18 when we should have been done in less than 4. Very frustrating but probably more a personal frustration than a course issue. Greens were in perfect shape and course and staff were excellent
