No warning of cart paths only before booking
We would not have went IF we would have known it was cart paths only. Course should have been closed for the day. Tree limls down from storms. Too hot for older men to do cart paths only.
Most fairways were not mowed. Course was in terrible condition .Would not go back .Wasn't worth 40.00
Green and Clean
Perfect day to play and good course to play on. Easy check in and staff were on the ball, helpful and friendly. Tee boxes are in good shape. Fairways were good, just a few spots here and there kinda bare but that's the odd, not the normal. Areas around the greens were splotchy on a few holes. Greens were excellent. Full, lush and rolled true. Love the greens. I guess people were scared off the day we played as it was carry path only, so pace of play was whatever we wanted it to be. Cart paths were good and smooth for the majority. Carts were in great shape. Love the seat cushions and thigh support on them. Will play here again sometime this year for sure. Overall, I'm awarding 4.5 out of 5.
Fun weekend at the Cove!
My son and I are from the lake area, and both of us are first year players and have a newfound love of the game! We have been trying to play ever golf course in the lake area, and yesterday we played at the Cove, and had an absolute blast! The friendliest staff we have encountered yet, answered every dumb question we could think of. Hit the course, had a cart girl check on us seemed like on every other hole, so friendly as well. Course is very challenging, especially for beginners like me. But, i shot a 91, couldn't be happier. My son and I planning our return trip already.
The course is challenging and needs some TLC.
Compared to Old Kinderhook and Osage National, this course is in rough shape. I’m not a fan of gas carts. They slow and noisy.
It seems the course has been abused by disrespectful players. The price per player was reasonable considering the course condition.

Fun Round
Fairways were spotty but the course was otherwise in good shape. The greens were firm as usual but they rolled really nice. Very challenging course and even more so with all the wind that day.
Average
Nice layout, but tried to move our teatime. It was told because we booked through GolfNow that wasn’t an option which was disappointing. No cart person out on the course pay a play was OK but certainly felt pushed and there were groups that cut holes.
Rough cart paths
Carts paths only game played and the cart paths were covered with potholes, tree root mounds and asphalt roughness and bridges need repairs too. Rough golf cart riding.
Paid $16 for 2 pale hotdogs to eat with unfriendly lady employee.
They do have cold ice water available to drink in eatery area.
My wife and I loved it
I loved the Cove. The staff were great. Very friendly and helpful.
The layout was fantastic. Difficult par 3,s but fun. Tee boxes were perfect, fairways were darn near perfect and the greens were great. I would definitely recommend this course. I would give it a 10 out of 10!
WE LOVE THE COVE!
Great layout, in outstanding condition for early October play, and the staff is without a doubt the best. We play this every year in October, and every year we enjoy it the most out of all the courses we play. Tried for 36 holes this year, only made 27, and enjoyed every single stroke!
Overrated
Not a resort course--no cooler on cart, no cover for golf bags in case of inclement weather, no towels, and no starter. Walkway bridges plus cart bridges were in hazardous condition. Definitely these bridges are a liability issue and potential cause for litigation. One had been repaired but repair was shoddy and not a lasting one. Whole course needs revitalization as well as sister course the Ridge. I have played here since late '70's and course is deteriorating. Would not recommend playing the Cove or Ridge until quality improvements are made which reflect a concern about golf in this area. Golf at Lake of the Ozarks cannot compete with Branson area. Only two courses come close to Big Cedar operation. These are Osage National and Old Kinderhook. Not sure whether golf is a priority with the management of the Four Seasons complex.
My Experience
Staff was friendly and efficient.
The course layout is fun to play. A mixture of let it rip and position golf.
Tee boxes and greens were in great shape. The fairways were dry and under watered. Which left you with thin lies in the fairways on several occasions and good shots in the fairway would run into penalty areas because. they were too thin to hold a fair shot.
Ball washers were neglected and cart paths are in need of repair. It is a good course that is rough around the edges.
