Coharie County Club
We had a really good time playing here. Weather was perfect, we never had a wait, and it was a fun new course to try.
We were there early so I guess I can understand the staff not being ready, but when we got in the pro shop there was nobody there. We had to wait around quite a bit for somebody to come and when they finally came in to help, they weren't downright rude, but they weren't overall friendly either.
We weren't able to hit at the range and the staff person didn't give a good explanation why. Just mumbled something and walked out the door which was kind of weird. Putting green was fine. Don't know if there was food or anything as we didn't go back in the clubhouse on the turn, but I'm guessing there probably was.
We like to collect ball markers at new courses as a souvenir or us playing there so we were kind of sad that they pro shop had no markers.
As far as the course, overall it was in very good condition. Bunkers were hard, not a lot of sand, more dirt, but the fairways were nice, greens were challenging to hit (very small greens and very bouncy). Tough to get the ball to stay on and when you finally go on, they were slow and straight.
The scenery was not outstanding, but not terrible either. Kind of built through a neighborhood, but you weren't playing right on top of the houses.
For us, since it's over an hour and a half away, we would probably not go back. But if we lived closer to the course, we probably would if we got the same Hot Deal ($35 per person) So if you've never played before and wanted to try a new course and you lived within 2 hours from it, I would recommend it for one visit. After the first visit, I would only go back if I lived within 30 minurtes of the course and since we don't, we will try other courses for our future excursions (our favorite is still Occano for traveling somewhere)
Interesting course in terrific condition.
About 30 minutes east of Fayetteville, but well worth the drive. The course is maintained to a very high standard and the holes are both interesting and challenging. My first time playing the course and it was not very busy which I thought was curious given how superior the layout and experience are when compared to courses closer to Fayetteville. I would definitely recommend this course to others (and have to a few friends already) and I will look forward to a return visit. I don’t generally write reviews but I thought in this case I would
Not with Golf now/pass
The pro shop told us they were not affiliated with Golf Now/Pass. The young lady let us play anyway after I showed her that it was paid for. The course has all new greens on the front nine and they plan on doing the back nine at some point this year. I would like to play it again at some point when we are in the area.
Thanks
One of my best friends was in town for the weekend and the holiday decided to catch around first time for both of us at this course and it was absolutely amazing from the staff drinks at the turn and even made some new friends golfed with the club champion, which made it even better experience, Andrew is an amazing golfer And Shawn did a great job too. I believe they are both members there and I believe I will be coming a member soon. Great course and highly recommend.
Horrible Greens
Listen I get it … late in the yesr…. BUT THESE GREENS ARE WORSE THAN BAYWOOD!! Do not play this course you ball will not hold the green THE ARE SUPER HARD …. ugggggh .
Hidden Gem
This golf course boasts the original 78 year old U3 greens and TifDwarf, 9 of each. Outstanding elevation changes, very scenic and challenging.
Nice Course for the money
I played this course for the first time. I had some food in the Bar and Grill, good food and service, reasonable prices. The staff in the Por Shop was very friendly and helpful. The course itself was in great shape with the fairways in better shape than most courses around here. I shot a 89 which is 7 over my handicap which was due to lack of course knowledge. The only thing I would improve on is going to the back 9 is not marked very good, a few more signs would be helpful. Overall, a nice course for the money.
Classic layout
Challenging course, generous landing area, very small run off greens. Greens a little slow, but consistent
