Decent
Overall the course is decent, the greens are starting to die off. The course was jammed pack when we got there and the pace of play was terrible due to the overloading of the course by management. Mid round some nut came up and asked why my group hadn’t hit their second shot with another group on the green we were hitting towards. He then proceeded to tell me I could hit a 240 yard pin if I tried so I should’ve hit and not held them up lol. Between this nut case and the pace of play you can assume how the overall round was.
Nice
People were nice course was hard and well placed enjoy the course enough I did a second round
Great Course
Great course to play. Friendly staff. Worth the price. Fun to play and have good fellowship with friends.
Been better
I have played this course approximately 10 times. The layout is fantastic and fun.
Unfortunately, at this moment, the greens are in terrible shape. Bare spots, goose grass, and uneven mowing has made putting futile.
I would wait until October or November to play again just to give the greens time to heal. Plus the third tee was unplayable as it had been sodded but not mown. The grass was taller than my tee. It’s a par 3.
Timberlake GC
Course has a good layout with quite a few semi blind tee shots, once you get past those the greens can be seen and you can judge yardages properly, three color flag system helps identify pin placements. Bent grass greens that rolled nicely, pay attention to subtle slopes since the speed can vary greatly on the uphill or downhill putts. Course conditions were good to great. Played well today until the last hole which is an awesome par three. Definite play when in the area.
On my top 5 in ENC list!
Live in Jacksonville, NC... Wife, daughter and I played today! The girls shoot between a 95-110. I'm a mid-80s golfer. This course was great for the whole family! It offered an acceptable level of challenge, the greens roll fast and true! The elevation change is great fun considering how many courses in our area are flat or have man made changes (that just aren't as fun as the natural terrain). This course is right up there with Cutter Creek in Ayden, and the price is phenomenal! The interesting mix of six par 3s and five par 5s is great and really allows for scoring if you play it well off the tee! We plan to go back at least monthly!
Great find!
My son and I were passing through the area and stopped in for a round. We're both single-digit handicappers and found this to be a really enjoyable and well-designed course. A little bit of everything with a lot of variation. It was challenging from the back tees, but still very playable if we didn't hit absolutely perfect shots. I also much prefer courses like this that are spread out in a loop as opposed to just fairways that run back and forth like stripes. GREAT value for the money. If we lived in the area, we would play here often.
Fun Really fun
6 par 3s. 5 par 5s. 7 par 4s. Par 71
Course was as fun as I could have hoped for really enjoyed how the cart paths ran out into the fairways and didn't start till you got next to the green on most holes no wet spots on the course as opposed to the course I played last week will definitely play this again can't say enough about the layout the architect of this course should get more work he designed a true fun to play course. Landing areas on par fives were wide par threes are challenging. Bentgrass greens are rare around here and these rolled true. The rough was cut low easy to find balls which keeps that pace and play comfortable. No bare spots to be found in Fairway or rough I didn't need to improve My lie in the winter that's so rare. This was a must play for me for quite sometime I wish I would have done it sooner and can't wait to do it again.
