Best of 2016: Top 25 golf courses in South Carolina

South Carolina golf is known equally for value and also bucket-list resort courses. Myrtle Beach has been a value haven for decades, while further inland, even better bargains can be found on lesser-trafficked layouts. Meanwhile, Hilton Head Island and Kiawah Island boast marvelous lowcountry and coastal layouts.

So the Top 25 courses in South Carolina, compiled using your ratings and reviews in 2016, features a mix of both great bargains at courses beloved by locals that you may have never heard of, as well as the bucket list stuff played by golfers from around the world.

To compile our state Top 25s, we used a similar method to that of our our national Top 50 ranking. A course's score is based on their overall (50%) rating and subcategory average (50%). A review is weighted based on how prolific that reviewer is on Golf Advisor, and a course receives a bump in their rating if their score is better than that reviewer's average score. Two courses from Lancaster and none from Charleston? No Dunes Club? No Caledonia? No Long Cove?
I am going to politely disagree with your entire list.

Not sure who is rating these courses, I love Edgewater but it is not the 2nd best in the state and Cheraw State Park and Lancaster should not even be on the list. Full Stop!!Coblestone at #10 is a joke by far the best of the best. Top 3 - #1 for cost, condition, layout. Where is Caladonia, TPC Myrtle Beach, Grand Dunes, Carolina Lakes, Springfield - so many better course than on this list???

If you don't have Caladonia, you don't know how to rate courses!
