Foxfire Resort & Golf Club - Grey Fox Course

About
Designed by renowned architect Gene Hamm, Foxfire's Red Fox and Grey Fox Course are an excellent test of golf for all skill levels. Bermuda fairways wind through towering pines, around rolling hills and past pristine, clear lakes. Water comes into play on nearly a third of the holes. Bent-grass greens are well- maintained. Both 18-hole championship courses feature the "Kirby Marker System" of precise yardage measurement. Both courses are open for daily play and make an excellent combo for someone wishing to play 36 holes in a single day

Coming along nicely
The new ownership has been working since November so I would imagine a lot of the improvements will be more noticeable in the spring. The rye grass is a bit patchy on the fairway. Greens for the most part roll true and even and are nicely groomed. A few have some patches of bare areas with sand and chunks of grass.
One item I wish they'd take care of is installing some ball washers. There's not a single one on the course. Also the bunker rakes are pretty scarce.
Nice course though and I look forward to seeing how it perks up in the spring.
Good condition
I have played this set of course a number of time over the past 5 yrs. Considering the issues surrounding the golf club, i have to say, the courses are in great condition. I enjoy the layouts, and if they are in good shape, they can be challenging. The fairways were in good shape, as was the greens. The only issue i had wasnt a big big one, the bunkers could have used some work. I will continue to play these courses as long they are in good shape, and the price stays fair .
