This is the fourth time I’ve played this course in a span of a year, and I live two hours away. The course is rustic, challenging, and, I think, up-and-coming. I’ve spoken to extensively to the head greens keeper, who clearly has a passion for his work there. Anyone within a 30-mile drive should consider stopping by.
Golf Now Sucks
I needed a different date of play but they wouldn’t allow it. All they would do is allow me to cancel the round of 4 players. I guess so they could sell it to someone else and get double the money. Yes, it was within 24 hrs but I think they could have allowed the change of date.
Lost Greens
The greens were in terrible condition. I think they sprayed something on them and lost their greens. Probably will be available for the next two months.
Stay away, unless…
The tees are very uneven and the grass is just ok. The fairways are ok, but long. They looked like they’ve been punched recently, so that’s fine. The rough is sparse. The greens are an absolute abomination. The greens are unplayable. Fairway length, and as patchy as I’ve ever seen. Bare patches. Patches of several different species of grass that have no business on a golf green. DO NOT play here, unless…
You get the round extremely cheap (under $20), and you just want to get out and hit some shots. It is a very good layout, especially if you’re a fan of target golf and shotmaking. The greens are tiny and many are perched up, so it is great practice for hitting small targets. But you might as well just skip putting. There are LOTS of shots where you are heavily rewarded for curving the ball each way. It’s a great place to practice ball-striking, but it’s a very hard place to play a real round of golf. Impossible, in fact. Possibly the worst greens I’ve ever seen in my 36 years of golfing.
Hidden Gem.
A Pinehurst course but not the price. Super friendly staff and owner. Perfect course to play a true quick 18.
Greens are terribe
Lost almost every green, there price you are over paying
Scotch Meadows CC
Have played this course for years. The greens are usually in great shape but today a bit burned out but still puttable. Don't play the course very much since they've gone up on their fee.
Old school vibes
Drove half hour down from Pinehurst during a buddies trip; gave the wallet a break. A gem. Front 9 is a step back to the '30s. Small greens, and ahallow bunkers. The layout is pure Ross. Greens to tee boxes are just steps away. Back nine has more 'shoulder room' but plays much like the front. Water is in play on only one hole, the creek that fronts 18 green. The bent grass greens are excellent. A steal @ $40 and change with a cart.

I understand it is early spring for golfing but come on at least seed the fairways. The greens were good but the greens guys started changing the hole placement right in front of me when I started. Not good.
Fairways were just dirt. Back nine holes were closed and GolfNow did not tell me before booking. I blame this on golf course and golfnow for not communicating between each other so the golfers know before we book. This is not the first time this has happened between golf course and golfnow.com and it is upsetting to pay this much money to get tee times and they are just crap. Poorly done by GolfNow and courses
I drove an hour of my time for this poor course but if you live in this area it might be ok for locals but for visitors it was just a waste of time and either the course or golfnow should have had that stated on the site so I didn’t book this round and waste my time. I am unhappy with golfnow and the course because of the waste of money, gas and my time for this booking.
As for pace of play, it was great because no one was there to speak of. I saw maybe a dozen people
Maybe it will show improvement as the grass grows if they seed and summer approaches
I won’t be back for this course again when I travel thru this area because there are way better courses all around that play a lot nicer
Great course
Great course great staff. Unfortunate weather. The weather permitted us from playing the front 9 but greens were descent good pace. Friendly and caring staff.
Best value ever!
Course was in very good condition and is really well laid out. Friendly staff and nice range and putting green. Great value.
Great value
Played course on route to Myrtle Beach. Great spot to swing the clubs and price was excellent. Would recommend
Challenging
Very tight greens and fairways on the front 9. The back opens up like a regular golf course but the dogs legs on most holes are right off the box. A low iron off the tee then a fair wood to reach the green. A few green were rough but they kept the flag away from the trouble spots, so go for the pin.
Best in the area
Normally I would give them 5 stars on condition but they were rolling/aerating the greens and didn’t inform me before I played. They also should add yardage indicators beside just the 150 marker. It is easy to add those to a course.
Course plays well though and offers both the par and bogey golfer a fun experience. BONUS beside one hole someone sells relocated golf balls for $1.00 each. Even had some Pro-V 1’s!
You’ll have a good time so try them out.
