Reviews
Great course
This is a great value for the money. It is challenging from the tips (I laugh at reviews that say a course is not challenging, but was played from the short tees), but considerably easier from the shorter tees. This course is fun to walk, and has a plethora of uphill, downhill and sidehill lies to challenge the player. I've played under par here, but also way over. Strategic tee shots are a must.
The only "nitpick" I have is just that, not serious. The course is surrounded by houses on some holes, but they are not in the way unless you get pretty wild!
Overall, a great deal!
GREAT PLACE TO PLAY GOLF
IT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PLACES TO PLAY BECAUSE EVERYHOLE IS DIFFERENT FROM THE NEXT.
IT IS GOOD SHAPE THIS YEAR.
WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE.
IF THERE IS A SOUTH WIND MAKES IT MORE DIFFICULT BUT STILL FUN.
Great condition , Fun Course , Awesome Value
Tregaron golf course is always fun & challenging. The fairways were in prestine condition ( extremly awesome for October 20th ). Pace of play went smooth. Value is great.
Wish they would put GPS on there carts ! !
A nice course.
Tregaron is a nice, adequate golf course that does not provide a whole lot of challenges as it is pretty wide open and an inconsistent golfer (hook/slice/worm raper) won't have much difficulty on most holes. There are a few challenging holes, but overall, the average golfer won't have a lot of trouble. Tregaron hasn't put a lot of money into their course for a number of years and while it is well maintained, it is just that, maintained. So much could be done to make it a more challenging course with plantings, leaving the grass to grow and making a rough and in general beautification.
Did not honor my reservation
Booked the review on golfnow about 3 days in advance. When I got there, they had scheduled a big outing at the same time, but never blocked off the time on golfnow. Unusually enough, they still had my name in the books, they just had moved our time to after the outing, but never called me or anything. What made me angry was the guy in the clubhouse didn't really care - was really dismissive - didn't apologize or anything, just told me I had to call golfnow to sort it out. I called golfnow and the lady was friendly and gave me a refund. The reason I'm giving the course 2 stars instead of 1 is the other time I went there I enjoyed it - the course was decent, and it was drizzling, so there was no one out there, and the guy in the clubhouse that day was friendly. So if you want to play there I would HIGHLY recommend you call the course first before you drive all the way down there to make sure you can actually play.
Fun to play
When I played this course this year, the rough was very dry but considering it was one of the worst droughts in years I can't really hold that against them. In normal conditions this course is fun to play and usually in very good shape. There are a lot of fun, challenging holes and there are also at least three drivable par fours, which I like. They often have very good deals on here. It is a bit of a drive, but if you can find a discount for this course, I would recommend it.
