Great value in Mount Airy
Played the course for the first time as we passed through on our way south. The weather was super...sunny with a high of 64. The grass was dormant but the fairways and greens were in great shape. The fairways on he front nine are wide but the greens are very well protected with all of the bunkers in exactly the wrong place. We especially liked the back nine with seven of the holes winding through the woods and incorporating lots of elevation changes. The back nine was a little tighter than the front nine.
The staff were friendly and the person at the counter honoured the price that I had been quoted on the phone the previous week ( $35), even thought the weekend rate was in effect for Veterans Day.
The signage could be a little better as we accidentally played #17 instead of # 6. The problem was that there is a loop back to # 6 from the fifth green and since we were playing the gold and red tees we reached them before going up a hill to the white tees where the sign pointed to #6.
Try this course!
First time playing here.
Nice course, can't wait to play it again in the summer time.
Beautiful Day, Beautiful Course
A fine round on a beautiful October week day. Course conditions were superb. Greens, fairways, sand traps (ugh) were in great shape. Pace of play was really good, despite a college tournament being held there that day - slowed us down for about 5 holes. Would certainly recommend and hope to return soon.
Good to be home!
Well maintained and challenging course. The staff are awesome! Greens were the best I've seen in a long time! Definitely recommend! See y'all next month!
Cross Creek Country Club August 2019
Impeccable course, reasonable price, and challenging enough to want to play it more often. Look forward to returning soon!
Great little course
I was the 4th car in the parking lot on a Saturday morning. They had some local guys (the old pro) go off before the building even opened up. The hospitality was great. One of the guys grabbed me a bag of balls while he was putting out carts. I was the only guy on the range warming up at 7:30am. The tees, fairways, and greens were in great shape. The greens were a little slow due to having to leave bent grass a little longer in the summer. Especially for bent, the greens had minimal ball marks for a course open to the public. It's not really a grip and rip layout. I hit maybe 3-4 drivers all day. Free yardage book with my round. Played in 3:15. Can't beat that.
Great Value
The course was in good condition. They must have had lots of rain but the course seemed to drain good. It was a good day overall.
Best course in the area
The course has a great layout and the greens roll very true and are a little quick. If you hit a good shot you will be rewarded. Before you start your round you have a nice size putting and chipping green beside of the first tee. You also have a driving range to warm up before you start. The staff is always very friendly. You want find a better place to enjoy your day of golf than Cross Creek. If you haven't played it yet then your definitely missing out.
Greens
Very fast which I like. Some very small greens. Greens were in very. Very good condition.
Great course despite the drenching rains the day before
Cart path only conditions but the course still played beautifully and the scenery is nice. Lots of water hazards kept it interesting. Greens were in good shape.
Awesome layout
The greens are rolling true and quick. It's my home course but it is one of my favorite layouts. The bunkers are always in great shape along with everything else. You need to try this course if given the chance. It's a little pricey at 45 a round but it's a must play course.
Great day
I would have given 5 star throughout but course was still dormant that day? Course layout is great with the back 9 being excellent. Staff was extremely friendly and excellent. Will definitely play again when in the area again.

Four years later
We last played Cross Creek four years ago. The course conditions were a bit improved but the recent tropical storms have left their mark. Some areas were still soggy from rain and we played 90/90 to protect the fairways. This has a small impact on pace of play but we still finished in about 4.5 hours. The course layout is fun to play with flat, water hazard laden, front 9 and a hilly back nine. Greens were fast but playable but hole placement made staying below the pin imperative.
The facility has suffered a bit over time with some wear and tear and the dining area/snack bar are tucked behind a maze of hallways.
Still, a worthwhile visit.
Great course
If you want to play a course with a mix of holes that will challenge your whole game, Cross Creek is for you. The longer holes have wide landing areas, while the shorter ones require percision. The par 3s are a great mix of distance and elevation changes.
The fairways are in great shape, and the rough is penalizing. The greens are fast but, run true. They are tiered and undulating also. Bunkers are placed in strategic locations and play consistent throughout the course.
I recommend this course for the scratch and weekend duffer alike.
Excellent round
We had an enjoyable round of golf on a well maintained golf course. Greens were awesome. I don't think i've ever experienced a more friendly staff. On my way thru the parking lot I greeted a gentleman and we both agreed how pleasant it was to play at Cross Creek CC.
