Best course in area
Top notch conditions, a must play if you are in the area. Will play a little longer than what card shows.
Tough course with plenty of bunkers and water. For the more skilled player
The course is layed out nice with true roller fairly soft greens. Very challenging. Only draw back is you can't have a cooler. Will play again soon.
Interesting layout needs some TLC
My first time at Cross Creek found a course that is a good layout with ample hazards - streams, ponds, woods, traps. The condition of the bent grass greens was very good. The fairways were good on some holes, but needed work on others. The traps need more sand in them and needed to be raked. The front 9 is mostly flat with a stream and/or pond on many holes. I found the back 9 more interesting and you got into some hills. As for value I found the discount price I paid on GolfNow appropriate for the quality of the course. The standard green fee of $40 is high for the quality of this course in this part of the country.
Well worth playing if you're in the Mayberry area
At $40, Cross Creek Country Club is a real bargain. With plenty of interesting holes, nice scenery and good course conditions, it's a solid, if unspectacular play. The back nine is a little tougher than the front nine, but both are very enjoyable. A few water hazards make things interesting and the finishing stretch of 16, 17 and 18 are fairly strong.
Great Greens! Okay Fairways and Bunkers
This is a really good layout. Greens were in excellent condition. Fairways were spotty, bermuda should be thick and lush this time of year. Bunkers were not consistent, some were very good others rocky and hard. This is definitely a course you want to play .
The course was very wet. cart path only. No standing water on greens. Layout is awsome.
Fairways were still dormant. greens were fast, had to keep ball below hole.Would play this course anytime. Really need someone who has played the course,if its your first time. Creeks appear at inopportune times.
Seems to not be a willing participant...
Although we found the course to be in good shape, greens were good, and play was unimpeaded I got the feeling the staff did not like us being there as we were non- members, or maybe because we were playing so cheap. After our round, the next day we were contacted and informed by Cross Creek we would no longer be allowed back to their course because of a claim that one of our party wrote profanity in the sand trap, really? Can any one say burden of proof? There is none, but never the less we are still banned! I am a 48 year old man, my partner a 50 ish Baptist minister, his son, and his brother. My review, don't bother...
Ready for Summer
The course is really greening up and in about 2 weeks it will be prime time. The greens were aerated last week and they are a little furry and bumpy which took some getting use to because they are normally fast. Our tee time was at 2:30 and by the time we made the turn the snack shop was closed so that meant we had to drink water that was provided on the course. Kinda tough since they do not allow coolers.
great round with freinds
would recommend to every body beautiful course, pretty surroundings friendly staff price was an outstanding value, we drove 25 miles to play
Great features, beautiful clubhouse and surroundings. Right amount of difficulties in holes. Water, but not major obstacles.
Although time of play was early spring and the greens were being aerated, it was clear that the course is well maintained.
Wonderful track, rude members.
The golf course is very nice and a delightful challenge. However as the club is semi-private, the members seem to disregard standard golf etiquette. 5 and 6 man groups slow play, the members don't seem to acknowledge tee times and the pro shop staff does not regulate tee times at all.
Very nice course with some challenging holes.
The staff is very friendly and the course is in great shape with a very nice layout.
Great course design and views
Staff was very friendly and helpful, beautiful clubhouse, greens were in excellent shape for this time of year. Highly recommend!
Fun and challenge with a lot of sand!
Great fairways and bunker play. Check in was a breeze! Very nice course along with a nice chipping green and putting green. I have already told a golfer friend about the couse.
One of the nicest in the piedmont of NC
I have about 10 courses loaded in my speed dial that are 45 minutes or less from my house. We are fortunate in the piedmont of NC ( Winston-Salem) to have that many semi-private or public courses from which to choose. Cross Creek is at the top of the list for well-manicured, challenging and picturesque courses that I play. It has been a private country club for years, but now has opened up on Golf Now. What a treat! The front nine is flat , but all holes are well laid out. The first seven holes of the back nine wind through a neighborhood and is more hilly. The last two holes frame the lake in front of the club house. We paid $38.00 on a Saturday morning which is a great value for the area, especially when you consider the condition of the course. Greens putted great, fast but smooth , All bunkers have fluffy sand and the fairways are in great shape( played in January).
By the way, they call it Cross Creek for a reason...
Great time
Excellent greens. Watch your spin!! Can't wait to play it in the spring.
true championship style course
the course is in great shape very challenging you need to place every shot plenty of sand and water a true championship style course
Great course well maintained
I love playing at Cross Creek it is a fair course, if you it hit where you should you can shoot a nice score. Nice bunkers make it challening on approach shots. Greens are as good as any course I've ever played a Myrtle Beach. You will not be disappointed if you play Cross Creek
Excellent Bermuda fairways
a challenging layout due to elevated greens, well bunkered.
Course is in great condition.
I would definitely play again
Staff was very friendly. Course was challenging and in good shape. I would definitely play this course again.
