Meadowlark Hills Golf Course
Hello, I was supposed to tee off at 1:50pm with a random threesome and myself. Showed up to the tee box as the first one teed off and I mentioned I was supposed to be with their group they waved me off and continued on. Went and told the clubhouse attendant what had happened after hearing him telling me I was supposed to be with their group over the loud speaker and he seemed visibly upset so I asked him what I should do and he gave me a short tempered response of "just play through them". I understand the course is busy but I don't understand if he wanted me to just play through them, why they are pairing you up with random individuals you don't know which sometimes obviously aren't friendly or willing to golf with you. After this I felt rushed and annoyed as the attendant made it seem like it was my fault and that I need to hurry up when golf is a majestic slower paced sport that I love and am trying to get better at every time out. Because of this, I in fact did not enjoy my round at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course.
Good round at Meadowlark
The course was in good shape as well as the greens. Bunkers had little sand and were difficult to play out of. Meadowlark is a fun layout with interesting holes. Pace of play was good and green fee was a good value.
Nebraska Vacation Stop
We stop in Kearney all the time when we drive from our home in Minnesota to our home in California. I bike by this course all the time. Today was the day! The course was in really good shape for being late in the dry summer. Greens were beautiful! The course has a great layout - some flat, some rolling hills, some elevated tees. Enough challenge for both of us - even my husband who has golfed for 60 years! But, still entertaining and not too frustrating for me a relatively new golfer. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful! We will make plans on every future trip through Nebraska to spend an extra day in Kearney so we can golf - and I can bike by the course!
