Should not be open
It was a rough winter here in central Nebraska and the type of grass this golf course has was hit hard. They have reseeded the greens and fairways. Everything looks dead. All you can do is hit a tee shot and second shot then pick up. This course is always rough in the spring but is very nice when the weather gets hot. Hope it comes back but doesn’t look good now. I drove fifty miles and quit after 5 holes. Did not catch when booking that there was temporary greens. Very disappointed.
Great layout!
Course has a great and challenging layout. The greens are very large and at our time of okay slightly inconsistent as it’s been dry. Fairways in overall great shape as well as the boxes.
Don’t miss this course
Awarii Dunes is a challenging, interesting we’ll kept golf course. A must play!
Just plain fun
Greens are for the thinking person. If you get within 12 feet your putt will roll true.
Golf should be fun. And this course is fun. Wide fairways but the dunes in the fairways and blind shots to the green will keep you interested.
More yardage marking or gps in carts would be nice. Maybe those aren’t true Links course amenities.
First time through … read the guide book for each hole.
Great Track!
Awarii Dunes needs to be on your list of courses to play if you're driving through or around the West/Central part of Nebraska. Great look, great layout, wide fairways and some tricky greens!
Highly Recommended!
Fall conditions - less than ideal
An interesting links course. Layout could certainly be very challenging with windy conditions.
Unfortunately, I played apparently the last week the course was to be open for the year. The greens were all aerated and rather bumpy, very much a factor. Fairways were being topdressed with sand, so about 1/3 of them were nearly sand traps.
Staff was pleasant.
Course is probably much better in summer when it's not being put to bed for the winter.
Fun course / challenging greens
Fun layout with some changes to score if on the right side of pin at approach. Greens can force a big number on score card if your irons are not sharp. Bunkers are large but shouldn’t come into play with size of fairways. Overall a very enjoyable course and worth the stop
