Siler City Country Club

I've been trying to get to this course for a while, and I finally got here today. The course was in great shape, very nice greens, a bit spongy. A very fair country course, challenging in spots and forgiving in others. Not crowded on a Thursday, great deal through the Golf now app. Great value, I played like trash but thoroughly enjoyed the course. Heartily recommend.

Temperatures and precipitation have not been kind to golf courses this spring. However, fairways were firm and greens rolled true. I can't wait the weather to finally warm allowing the recovery of a harsh period. What I enjoyed most was the layout - fair and challenging.

Played for the first time and really enjoyed the layout of the course. They had aerated the greens 1-2 weeks prior to play so they were bumpy and slow, but these bentgrass greens have the most slope that I've seen in the area. I will definitely come back to play later this year when it's in better shape. A hidden gem when in good condition.

I had never heard of Siler City CC before I signed up for a round on GolfNow. Living in Pinehurst I was a little concerned about leaving the friendly confines with all our great courses to play an unknown course. By the fifth hole I knew I had made the right choice.

The first few holes are your average golf holes, the par five second tightens as you approach the elevated green which was tricky. The fourth is a longer par four that plays over a creek, like many holes on the course. The fifth had an homage to Donald Ross with a bowl on the front of the green. That fifth is an excellent dogleg left, quite the challenge.

Six was a tough and long par five and the seventh, a short par three, kicked my butt. The eighth, ninth and tenth alone are worth the greens fees. The back nine was a bunch of fun and littered with water hazards. The 18th was far and away my favorite hole on the course. I wish the course wasn't packed (first warm day of 2021, pace of play was still excellent) as I would have played it again,

Course was in great shape. Pro shop attendant asked if it was our first time. He was very professional and assisted us in getting around. Course was in amazing shape. Only 1 hole had a bad tee box. Other than that this course was in amazing shape with a beautiful layout.

I’ve played this course twice now. First time in 30 mph winds and second time in the rain. Mother Nature doesn’t like me playing here. Solid course, but difficult. Greens are very undulated and the course is tight with woods and a lot of OB. If you can play this course well, you can score anywhere. Conditions were decent and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Greens were punched but didn't role bad. Descent golf for winter. Course layout was great. Love to come back with warmer weather.
