Much improved conditions
New traps are excellent. Greens were at a much better speed and more consistent.
The park and those trees
Love the park and the tree lined doglegs. Would love for some trimming of big branches hanging over in the fairway.
Wonderful time; very busy day today yet the pace was fine
Everything is pretty good except
The pace of play was very slow. Got at least two teams backed up at each hole throughout round.
If only the City of Akron improved their maintenance.
This is a wonderful old course which used to host most of the important local amateur tournaments. However, due to minimal maintenance other than mowing the grass, the greens and bunkers are sub-standard. The traps are 75% dirt, 25% sand and very shallow. The greens are slow, bumpy (due to seldom being rolled) and different speeds from hole to hole. The course is very challenging as every hole is a slight dogleg, trees everywhere to tighten the width. Desk help and snack shop help are excellent and very friendly.
The other municipal courses in the Akron area are far better maintained and supported by their city management, sadly Goodpark has suffered from city neglect for years now.

Home Course
I learned how to play on this course about 35 years ago. Obviously the trees and vegetation has grown which makes it more challenging. Not a course for long drives, except for #5. Keep the ball low and you can have a good outing. Love this place and always will!
Good value for the money
Course and greens were in good shape. Played as a single and it took 4 hours to play 18. Probably could've been quicker if threesome ahead of me either offered to let me play through or played their shots quicker, got up to their balls quicker and got off the greens quicker. There were groups ahead of them, but were playing in slow motion, and on most holes could've kept moving better than they did. No courtesy extended to a single player waiting on them for each shot on the back nine, after getting through a slow front nine of play. Was around 96 degrees and hot, but overall I enjoyed the round.
Challenging track in pretty good shape
Good Park is all about keeping the ball in the fairway. If you do that, you’ll score. If you don’t, you won’t. Greens could ideally roll a little quicker, but they’re definitely in good shape. Got a good deal at $27 for 18…will definitely return.
Delay your tee time without notice
Our tee time was delayed without any notice or apology. Rude.

Great Course
Course is in excellent condition. Traps are maintained very well. Hit the same tree I did 40 years ago, the last time I played Good Park.
Good Park
Sunday mornings are very busy, player skills aside. Expect to wait each hole. But it’s also a layup course so players are constantly hitting short
