Ridiculous pins
Every pin placement was 2-3 feet from one corner of the green. Almost impossible to go at the pin. Don't mind that on a few holes but every hole is ridiculous. Also behind a really slow foursome with no intention of letting two of us pass. Twosome behind us skipped two holes to get by and we quit after 15.
Challenging Layout
First time playing this course and I have to say we really enjoyed it. Tree lined fairways and receptive greens. You have doglegs to left and right. Depth perception off a few tees made it difficult to determine how far out to carry your drives but still a great course. We will return here in the future.
Still a great course
I've played Good Park more than 60 years and have seen the best and worst of it. For last 30 yrs, this is one of the best public courses in the area. Greens are great and holes are challenging even without water hazards. Many trees are gone, but still enough to get
you in trouble. Lack of recent rain has the ball rolling farther which suits this senior golfer. My favorite course by far.
Good Park Late August
Good Park is a very traditional tree lined layout. It the type of course that tells you what shot you are intended to play, and good luck if you do not play that shot. Trees line both sides of most fairways, several holes have extreme doglegs. Miss the fairway and your will likely be chipping out.
The conditions of the course were better than I had heard, everything was well maintained, greens, fairways, and tees.
It is a target golf type of course and does not leave a lot of room for errors on either side.
Mature , tree lined golf course.
I played with one other person who showed me the course while playing excellent golf, very friendly.
The course is mature with many large oak and elm trees , stay out of that trouble.
excellent public course, good value
GoodPark has always been maintained in great condition for a city-owned/public course. Very challenging course with very mature trees lining all fairways. Greens in excellent condition.
Very Nice Course
Challenging layout with many twists and turns through fairways lined with large trees.
A long course from the tips. Great finishing holes on each nine.
Best greens I have putted on in NE Ohio in 2017. Exceptional true and consistent.
Challenging course
This is an excellent public course when it is not underwater… A lot of different shots that require the use of most clubs in your bag… The number nine hole is a long par three surrounded by bunkers and a big oak tree which can build your confidence or crush your hopes along with your score. I play here twice a week, the restaurant is also fantastic!
Excellent course and challenge
This course lacks water hazards and has minimal hazards overall, but provides many longer par 4's that are mostly slight doglegs. J.E. Goodpark features a lot of trees to defend itself, and they do a good job of punishing misses. Overall, greens have some speed and break, and the rough is tall enough to make club selection important. I enjoy this city operated course, and am always surprised that Akron does a nice job here (for example I lived in the city for 10 years and my street was never plowed).
Nice City course
Good Park is a challenging course with lots of mature trees and plenty long enough. Enjoyable place to play! Typically its very busy so be prepared for a slower round. They do have a ranger patrolling to try and keep play moving.
Beautiful golf course but
Beautiful golf course but The pace was really slow. The course condition was excellent. And again the pace of play was terrible!!! Maybe I will play it next year.
The off course rating of poor is an error. I must have missed selecting a rating while using my phone to leave the review.
