My home course
I grew up across from Good Park. Have played it for 62 years and never get tired of it.
Goodpark
The course doesn't drain well so there are many spots that have standing water in the fairways and bunkers.
Pace of play was awful, 5.25 hrs to play 18 .. The greens were freshly aerated and some had granular fertilizer on them.. So the putting was very difficult to say the least.
Played Here for Many Years
Good Park is one of my faves in the area. It is always a challenge and is usually in very good condition.
The greens were great for this time of year
It was very cold some play was fast not many playing will I started, but course played well.
Nice public course layout
Goodpark is a public course in a "neighborhood" setting. Because of this, there are several holes that dogleg. It is a fairly long course (with a couple of short holes mixed in). There aren't any water hazards to contend with, but there are sand traps on almost every hole and the tree lined fairways provide some challenge to make good shots to stay out of trouble. The putting greens are in excellent shape(but were rolling a little slow..probably due to fall weather conditions) The grounds crew was working hard to maintain the excellent course conditions! Play it!
True test
The Park doesn't let up. Good conditions, greens still a little sandy, and shaggy, from a later aerification. Putts were not visibly bumpy, but not breaking as much as normal.
Fantastic!
This is an incredible gem for the public in the middle of Akron!!
Good Park is Great
Great course, great friends, great time. I've played Good Park several times a year for many years and I am never disappointed playing Good Park Golf Course.
great place
If you like true greens that roll without bounce then this is the place for you. Good park is a nice place. Very well maintained and long. Its different every time i play there. Staff are great. Pace was standard. I am most impressed with the condition of greens for this time of year. Fast and true great.
Had my booking but no credit
I was supposed to only pay $17/pp but when I arrived they said it was $20 as there was no credit applied.
Ridiculous pins
Every pin placement was 2-3 feet from one corner of the green. Almost impossible to go at the pin. Don't mind that on a few holes but every hole is ridiculous. Also behind a really slow foursome with no intention of letting two of us pass. Twosome behind us skipped two holes to get by and we quit after 15.
Challenging Layout
First time playing this course and I have to say we really enjoyed it. Tree lined fairways and receptive greens. You have doglegs to left and right. Depth perception off a few tees made it difficult to determine how far out to carry your drives but still a great course. We will return here in the future.
Still a great course
I've played Good Park more than 60 years and have seen the best and worst of it. For last 30 yrs, this is one of the best public courses in the area. Greens are great and holes are challenging even without water hazards. Many trees are gone, but still enough to get
you in trouble. Lack of recent rain has the ball rolling farther which suits this senior golfer. My favorite course by far.
The off course rating of poor is an error. I must have missed selecting a rating while using my phone to leave the review.
