Sad state of affairs.
I’ve never lost balls in a fairway, but it’s possible here. Random holes in the fairway, overgrown. Some tee boxes are as long as the rough or longer! Crabgrass and rocks in the bunkers. You’re taking your life into your hands driving over the dilapidated bridges that go over the creeks. Some are clearly broken or are about to break. Terrifying and yet, sad. There is no pride of management or ownership in this course. They are an accident away with the bridges from being shut down and quite frankly, they deserve it. Never playing here again until ownership changes, it’s just a sad course.

Terrible
This course has some of the worst tee boxes, fairways, and greens I have ever seen. I’d rather buy 3 beers that were $20 each than ruin my morning on this terrible course. 1/10. Absolutely terrible experience

Bad shape!
Have not played this course in many years, rough, fairway it’s all the same. Greens are not watered and have various forms of vegetation growing on them besides grass. Looks like majority of golfers on the course like playing music for all to hear. I would not care if the charges were 30-35 for a round, but for 60+ bucks you can find gems elsewhere that are at least maintained.

Staffs are nice and friendly but golf course need maintenance.
It was very bad condition.
It had weed on the green lot of weed.
It is cheap but I rather pay more for somewhere else better condition.

Please ownership, invest in your property
As a Hackettstown native, it is upsetting to see the condition of this course. I can drive to Washington, Belvedere, Flanders, etc. and find better courses for a cheaper cost. If you take notes from Harkers Hollow, and actually give two damns, the course will flourish. Please fix this, for the betterment of our town.
Declining!
This course has been declining every year! The greens have crabgrass all over them. The bunkers are not taken care of and have hornets in some of them. Bring a hammer to put your tees in. The tee boxes are rock hard and are littered with broken tees. This used to be a decent course but it is not taken care of and then raised the rates! Stay away!

Needs a lot of TLC
Minebrook is an outstanding course that demands good shot placement. Packed into only 6200 yards from the back tees, no two holes are alike. This course has HUGE potential as a public operation IF ONLY THEY PUT SOME EFFORT INTO THE GREENS AND TRAPS. Greens do not hold when they dry out. These folks should take a field trip to the Plainfield West 9 and see how people will line up and pay for good greens even if the rest of the course is in relatively poor condition. WEEKEND GOLFERS LIVE FOR THAT ONE WELL STUCK SHOT THAT HITS NEAR THE PIN AND HOLDS. Poor fairways can be worked around by simply playing preferred lies, or "winter rules". Aerating, top dressing, watering. A "low budget" operation can focus ON THE GREENS. And traps simply require a rake and occasional weeding to keep them nice. This course would benefit with some old fashioned hard work, rather than being cheap with staff and rich in poletics.

Not great…
If you like sand in traps, stay away. If you like wooden bridges that look like they will support you, your friend, and your cart, stay away. Greens were decent, give them that. Clubhouse super tired. Friendly bev cart staff and starter. Several tee boxes in real need of help.

OMG
They must have had some floods but rather than fix them they just have huge runoff streaks that they filled in with really bad rocks and dirt. Course has never been worse, my suggestion is don’t play here even if you get a free tee time. Was extremely disappointed, they have to get grounds people to work, you can’t hit the ball into the fairway and have it bounce backwards because they have loose rocks the size of bowling balls in the fairway. Do not play here!!!
