Rock Ridge Golf Course

I’ve played here quite a bit — and the new owners are definitely working hard and making improvements. For end of season, tee boxes were in good shape, fairways were decent, greens were rough. Overall it was an okay round; but charging $40 for end of season for the conditions was a little high IMO.

I used to play this course all the time when it was Minebrook. Now, the course is in total disrepair with horrible upkeep. They need to mow the grass and blow the leaves. I feel like I was robbed of $60. Unless they do a serious overhaul to this course I wouldn’t play it if it was the only course available.

Novice golfer here and played this course last fall as well. Then it was $38 now it’s $60 with new ownership. Not a concern but the conditions were not great

I want to see these folks do well. The fairways were great, the layout and setting fantastic but investment needed asap on tee boxes and greens. Most of not all were super tore up the greens especially rough.

Regular leaf cleaning needed as well

The practice putting green is a good indication of what to expect on the course.

So this course is pretty average, layout is great. From what I understand the course is under new management and they are putting in a lot of work to improve the greens and fairways. Greens were a little slow but I’ll chalk that up to the morning dew making the course really wet when we first got there. They need to trim the fairways more and do some work on the tee boxes, if that happens this will be a solid home course for me as I’m less than 15 minutes from here. The scenery is beautiful

Green are coming along, but the fairways are HORRIBLE. They obviously have not kept up with their cutting. Dudes, when it rains like this, grass grows. Getting the fairways down to half inch (rather than 2 1/2 inches) would greatly improve the experience.

I thought with new ownership there would be some improvement, I would argue it has gotten worse. Tee boxes are the length of the rough.

I wouldn’t recommend it now maybe next year when they make improvements that are scheduled it used to be a really nice course 5-6years ago

I,very played this course numerous times over the last 40 years. Unless the new owners want to keep the wild look this course needs a tree service and brush hog to clean te couse up and try and bring it ack to the old day. Presently no food service available on site.

I have hope in the personnel to turn this place around, but it’s no where near acceptable yet. I’ve played here multiple times this season and pace of play seems to get worst throughout the year. I quit on the 14th hole because it was that unbearable. Pace of play is 14 minutes per hole, but each tee time is 10 minutes apart. Doesn’t make sense especially with the novice crowd they attract. I would apply to be weekend ranger if they allowed me.

If you’re lucky to get out before any groups, expect to play on sandy and rough green conditions. The practice green pretty much says it all with what you should expect. Also lucky if you get out without the course being flooded and cart path only.

Again, I absolutely love the people who work here, and hate that I’m writing this, but should be for-warned that this course is in desperate repair right now. Best of luck to ownership and know they will turn this place around!

Coures not in good shape and lots of bugs. T boxes were in terible shape. Green bumpy and some had weeds and some were just sand. .with that being said i know its new owners amd hopefully they will make improvments for next season.
