Chippewa Golf Club
About
Established in 1926, Chippewa Golf Club in Curtice is one of the area's oldest courses. The course was designed by Toledo native Harold Weber, who was a four-time Ohio amateur champion and the city's first famous golfer. The layout has retained its traditional design and feel characterized by tree-lined fairways and small greens framed by strategically placed bunkers. In addition to the bunkers, there are two creeks that wind along the length of the golf course, coming into play on 15 holes. Golfers should be prepared for some tricky carries on the water holes. Though there are some holes that will make you think, Chippewa is a classic layout that players of all skill levels can enjoy. There are five sets of tees to make it even more approachable.

Great value price on Golf Now was outstanding
Course was in great condition. Played 18 with my wife in 3 hours. Nice mix of par 3, 4, and 5 holes.
Good course
The course is very nice this time is directly after getting rain for a week they were not able to keep everything mowed to normal levels and some sitting water and mud. This is a rare occasion usually the course is tip top
Hey
I see you’re having concerts there.. Somebody’s paying for that ..but you can’t pay to get people to cut your greens or get the right golf course equipment.? don’t understand that one….. things are backwards..
Nice course, slow green, but be aware of rude driver
This was the second time I played on this course, and had been two years since I first played here. The first time I played here was during one of my former colleague’s memorial outing, and I only learned to play golf for less than 6 months. You can imagine how the game went for the first time. I literally acted as a bystander to watch my teammates playing scramble since I couldn’t contribute anything but fishing balls in the ponds and creeks.
As a result, I sought to challenge the course again after my handicap dropped to 14 this year. Well, the “revenge” didn’t went well as I planned. The green was kind of slow, even slower than the slowest course I played before. For the approaching shots, I couldn’t rely on the green to extend the ball rolling, instead I have to club up by one to assume the carry distance + 5 yards as the total distance.
However, my golf lessons on using fairway wood and driver finally paid out, and I had the confidence to drive over the hazards instead of bailing out. I would wish I could eliminate all those 3 putts or 4 putts to improve my score significantly.
One incident occurred when I was teeing up for a 200 yard par 3 along the highway, some rude countryman drove by horned on purpose since he’s the only car on the road at that time, but I still managed to drive the ball on green despite the noise he made.
The pace of this course is very fast, it did add additional pressure to the game, which may not be a bad thing,
Overall I enjoyed the course in a wonderful afternoon, I will evidently come back again when I feel my skill is improved.
Hey
Our golf cart went dead on us twice in our golf league… not cutting the greens which happened twice in our golf league, … the Manger guy non-friendly.. he’s more worried about drinking… bunkers look horrible… never see the corse getting watered. Looking for a different place to play next year…
Long time ago
I haven’t played this course in 48 years. I was pleasantly surprised how good of shape it was in. Thank god they have the course well marked or I would never have found my way around. The greens were in great shape and rolled true. If you find yourself in the Toledo area put this course on your to do list. You won’t be disappointed.
fun course
The layout of the course is a bit awkward but there are plenty of signs to keep you from getting lost. We've had a lot of rain lately, so the few spots that were either wet or had not been mowed were to be expected. Actually, the course was in much better shape than I expected. We had a twosome that jumped in front of us on hole 12 and that led to us having to wait on each of the holes that followed. Not enough of a wait that we felt the need to call the clubhouse, but come on man, show some courtesy. At least ask to play through (although they were not playing faster than us to begin with).
Gods Day
Course is in good shape and fun to play. Look for the plastic gator in the pond for geese control. Drive cart slow or you may knock something loose because of bumps in the rough.
Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve and are working diligently to improve the course. Thank you for playing and we hope to see you again soon.
