Brookledge Golf Club
About
Brookledge Golf Club sprawls across more than 120 acres of gently rolling hills and mature woodlands. The course is an Arthur Hills design and considered one of the finest public golf courses in northeast Ohio. Originally opened in 1988, the course later underwent a major renovation that included the installation of a new aeration system and the replacement of all the sand traps. The golf course is challenging with trees lining the fairways and framing the greens, leaving little room for error off the tees or on the approaches. The greens are subtly elevated and well protected by mounding and bunkers. Brookledge Golf Club's tricky putting surfaces have mild undulations that can cause subtle breaks in putts. Trees play a more prominent role on the back nine, especially on the closing holes.

Fun course, but GolfNow lacking some information
I wanted to write this review to voice a little displeasure at GolfNow or Brookledge, whoever is to blame. When I arrived at the course, I was informed that I would have to tee off on the back nine, and might have to potentially play the back twice because they were ariating the greens. There is an arification warning on some GolfNow tee times, but I was not alerted about this situation when I booked my time. I probably would have still played, as the course is near my new home and it was deeply discounted. But why there was no warning had me a little upset when I arrived and was informed as to what was going on. I wondered why it was such a great deal, which I soon found out. It was an unfortunate situation, certainly a miscommunication or lack of communication. I had played Brookledge once last fall, and it is a fun track. Not long at all, but requires some precise shots to get around in a decent score. The risks and rewards are there for the long hitters, but the risks usually far outweigh the rewards of taking on trouble. The greens are small and undulating, also, which adds to the difficulty. Unfortunately for me, putting was little more than a formality on sand covered greens. Don't let my review scare you, the course is fun to play and well maintained. I just hope you aren't caught off guard like I was when booking a tee time through GolfNow.
Beautifull course
Right from the start this course is beautifull. Nice well kept fairways, pretty fast, undulated greens. Yes, keep your ball on the fairway. Rough is rough, as it has to be.
The only downpoint is the lack of proper (hole) maps. Not at the start of a hole, not on the score card. As a new player it was sometimes unclear to discover the layout including hazards.
Great day, blue skies, green fairways
Great course, with green fairways and interesting greens. Elevated greens makes it challenging. Sand bunkers need some attention, but in all a great course.
great condition for september
the course is challenging and in pristine championship condition
A nice round ruined
Playing as twosome, teebox waits can be expected on holiday. Despite this we were hit into twice by the group behind. They let a group through that promptly asked us to play through???
Only a thunderstorm saved the day by letting keep playing while the yahoos took shelter.
I have never experienced such poor behavior on a golf course course.
Great greens in great shape
Greens were in great shape. Contours of the greens made some real challenging. A treat of a golf course to play.
offer priced, slow play
price, starter allowed 4 walks to go be for 2 in a cart, ranger does not tell slow players and walkers to let faster players to play past.
Very interesting course to play. Greens well maintained and fast.
There are a number of challenging holes playing from the tip tees. Play was fast and as I came up to slower players they let me through. Tees and fairways are maintained but could use just a little more attention. Club house staff when I signed in was very accomendating. When I made the turn I went in for refreshments but there wasd only one person behind the counter and he was waiting on players to sign in. Never did get refreshments at the turn. Should make your self a note bring your own bottled water as there is no water coolers out on the course.
We got a good deal on this site
We paid 17 per and played 18 holes. Great deal for a very nice course.
great value and excellent course
I used to play this course quite often when I was younger, but this was my first time back in 7 or 8 years. It is still in great shape and they take treat the course as if it was a private club. The fairways are cut in style with a intermediate cut before the rough and the greens were in excellent shape. Although its closely packed together, there are still several holes that feel totally secluded. Lots of doglegs and trouble to get around. If you play smart it can be a really rewarding fun course. I will be back a lot sooner than my last break.
Only allowed nine --when i bought a hot deal.
I bought a hot deal that is an 18 hole deal, but the course manager decided that since i bought it so cheap @ $14 each it was only for 9 holes and he would only give me nine for that price.
The hot deal did not have the hole specified--so the manager dictated how many holes i got for the price i paid.
Be careful --cause the course decides how many holes you are going to get based off how much you pay for the hot deal.
Would be sure that carts are allowed before I return.
Love to play different courses. It was a day after heavy rain. So limited to cart paths which I hate. There are some interesting holes but nothing special. If I lived close I'd return occasionally.
Course is in excellent condition
Excellent value for the price. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Great Muni Gem
Can't say how much this course is worth. It is in very, very good shape. Greens are quick and true for the most part. Some goofy holes but most are wonderful! Has a classic flavor to it. Well worth the money!
An Arthur Hills Gem
This was my first round at Brookledge. How have I been missing out on this course for so long?
Conveniently located just minutes off of Route 8. Impeccable conditions that boasted thick, healthy rough, true greens and well-manicured bunkers. A layout that shows how much value a top golf course architect can add to a fairly mundane piece of property.
Beware of the par 4s that look short on the card. Several have hazards that require the right distances or overhanging trees that impact angles to reach the green. No push overs here.
I'm looking forward to getting back soon.
This is one of the better Muni courses in Northeast Ohio.
I really enjoyed playing this course. I believe its one of the better values in Northeast Ohio. Nice mix of shot selection holes and some open fairways. The course is well maintained and its obvious the people who work there want you having a memorable experience.
I highly recommend this course!
Great time, one of the best kept secrets.
Was very surprised to see how well a course could be kept up so well. Fairways cut to perfection and greens were in top notch condition. Very nice to see how many employees were on the course upkeeping with the great conditions. Only complaint is the lack of marking on the course. No layout to be able to follow, either on the score card or on the course itself.
Will come back to play in the very near future.
very nice course
very nice course that is close to home. it also has challenging holes.
Nice course and great staff.
Played the course after a rain storm and was pleased with how well the course drained. Staff is always a pleasure.
Great Track
If you have not played this course make sure you put it at the top of your Golf Now list. It is a great Arthur Hills design with plenty of decisions during the round. Some long par 5's and some that you can reach in two. Some very demanding par 3's especially from the tips.
Greens are immaculate, fast and receptive. Ball will stop and sometimes come back a little. One of the best values in the Akron area especially if you get a "hot deal" tee time.
you must have not been paying attention but brookledge does not offer 18 holes that cheap. it must have been a mistake on your part. i see $15 deals on there all the time for brookledge but it clearly states that it is for 9 holes only. this is an excellent golf course
