Brookledge Golf Club

About
Brookledge Golf Club sprawls across more than 120 acres of gently rolling hills and mature woodlands. The course is an Arthur Hills design and considered one of the finest public golf courses in northeast Ohio. Originally opened in 1988, the course later underwent a major renovation that included the installation of a new aeration system and the replacement of all the sand traps. The golf course is challenging with trees lining the fairways and framing the greens, leaving little room for error off the tees or on the approaches. The greens are subtly elevated and well protected by mounding and bunkers. Brookledge Golf Club's tricky putting surfaces have mild undulations that can cause subtle breaks in putts. Trees play a more prominent role on the back nine, especially on the closing holes.

Brookledge one of the most underrated courses in Ohio
This course is truly a great course and don’t really know why it doesn't have more talk about it, it’s not exactly how people used to think about this course as it is for what I’ve played in better condition then goodpark, fox den, Chippewa, and probably about the same condition as windmill lakes. Wish people would put this up their near a windmill lake course because it truly deserves the recognition.
Great course
If you can get this course for under $35 I think it’s the best value
Great challenging course.
Staff was friendly and very professional. They do need to have rangers monitor the pace of play on a regular basis.
The course is in okay shape. But this was still the worst golf experience of my life. It was my first time here - my husband and I like to try new courses once in awhile. But this place has scarred me from branching out from my known courses. It was that bad.
They pack tee times way too tight one after another. It was one big backup the whole time. And this was on a Tuesday, I can’t even imagine what it’s like on a weekend. We arrived and still had a good 15 minutes before our tee time, but we felt very rushed by the starter. We didn’t get a chance to grab drinks and use the restroom so we just went right to the tee …..and ended up waiting there for 10 minutes past our tee time anyway.
Around hole 3, someone came and told us to keep moving because there was a backup, but we explained and proved that it wasn’t our fault. We were constantly waiting for the group in front of us. We can only going as fast as them (who, honestly, were pacing slower. And on top of an already tightly packed tee time, that was a recipe for disaster).
The people behind us were constantly right up on us and it was very rude. Then around hole 6, I was standing in the middle of the fairway (again waiting for the group in front of us to finish putting) and he teed off!! And it came 3 inches from hitting me, so much so I literally had to jump out of the way! I yelled back at them that they almost hit me in the head and to be patient and slow down. I was so angry.
When you have a bunch of people frustrated and impatient from tight tee times, this is what happens. Please space out your groups, Brookledge!
We only played 9. I was so over it. We didn’t even finish our 18. So congratulations Brookledge, if that is your plan all along then you got me. Paid for 18, only did 9.
I’ll never come back again and I will also tell everyone I know to not come here.
Nice course
I read the reviews before playing here about how long rounds are taking. There were a lot of twosomes of older golfers which made for slower play so if in a big hurry don’t play here. Course was super nice staff was great conditions were great if I had one complaint me and the others I played with we found the greens to be really nice but very inconsistent on speed for some reason. I can see why so many people play here nice practice range chipping and putting area.
Challenging And Beautiful
A great Muni with modern carts (leave your GPS in the bag), a friendly staff and excellent grounds crew. Must watch where you're going. Had to back up more than a couple of times. But you'll get used to it. Hole 13 needs some re-design.
Great Condition, Slow Play
A hidden gem in Northeast Ohio in my opinion. The course itself was in great shape, pretty challenging but beautiful track and required use of pretty much all of my clubs in my bag. However, the pace of play on the front 9 was pretty slow. Waiting an average of 10-15 minutes per tee box on a Tuesday afternoon isn’t great. For the price though, I couldn’t recommend this place enough.
