Staff has always been great in my interactions with them. Other than that, you get what you pay for. This is definitely not the nicest course you will come across; fairways are patchy, cart paths feel like a bmx course, and you might need a hammer to get your tee down. With that being said, the greens are in great condition and there are some interesting holes sprinkled in.
Never Again
I used to play this course a decent amount when I was younger, thought it was a good idea to go back out there for some nostalgia...turned out to be a bad idea. Course was just absolutely TRASH. BY FAR the worst cart paths (if you would even call them that) I have ever seen, even if you tried to avoid all the potholes the grass was maybe even worse it felt like i was riding down a ski hill with moguls for the entire round. would not recommend to anybody, no matter the skill level.
Fix it or shut it down
The only thing good on this course was the greens but they were slow. Course needs fixed or shut down. It is a rutted cow pasture.
Had fun
Grounds were ok some fairways and roughs could use some attention but had a good time
Find a better deal.
I haven't played th I s course in several years, very surprising that is was in just poor condition.
Awesome small greens
Overall, the course was in very poor shape. The greens were among the best I've played, but the tees were pretty much dirt, the fairways and roughs weren't much better. Riding in the cart reminded me of watching dirt bikes going over moguls.
Skip this course
The course is not worth the money to play. Overall in terrible shape. Tees have tons of divots, even par 4s and 5s, there’s no difference from fairway to rough, There giant ruts across holes where the ground has settled due to drain tiles, and the course is flooded with high school teams. I usually don’t have an issue with high schools, however, a boys golf team was there for practice, two schools were there for a girls meet, and another two different schools were there for their boys meet. Because of these meets and practice, I had to go off the back nine which had a terrible confusing layout. You can clearly tell that the back nine was an after thought and they forced it in around the front nine. So again, skip this course if you can.
Nice course just don’t play after rain
Nice, well maintained course but heavy rains affect the course for days after.
Not as bad as some folks say
I played yesterday morning about 9am. I was expecting a fairly slow round since there were a lot of folks there already - and that was kind of the case. Took me about 4 1/2 hours to play (was paired up with a threesome), but that wasn't too bad.
As for the course, itself: well, it was in "ok" shape. The fairways do have some dry spots and the tee boxes on several holes are pretty much dirt. But it wasn't anything that was too much of an annoyance. For the golfer who is out there just trying to break 90, this is a good course. If you're a single digit handicapper - probably not for you.
Now, with that said, the things I do like about the course are 1: layout. 2: accessible greens. 3. occasional challenging approach shot.
This course works well for me because you CAN miss a fairway and not be in "jail" or lose your ball. You can certainly lose balls here if you tend to hook or slice really bad. But if you miss a fairway by 2-3 yards, you'll usually be ok here. I like that.
The greens are probably C+. They roll pretty well. A couple of surprising breaks. They did firm up a bit in the afternoon. And they're mostly in good condition.
Overall, this course is probably a little nicer than something like Sweetbriar or Raccoon Hill, but not as nice as a course like Shawnee or Big Met.
For $41 on a saturday with a cart, seems like a pretty nice place to play. And if you're just trying to break 100 - this is definitely friendlier than any of the metroparks courses.
Not bad
as a beginner, this was perfect for me. Not too intense, not too busy. Just right
Wrath of God
Went to this golf course early morning, looked beautiful, staff was very friendly but unfortunately a massive storm/down pour made it unplayable that day. I will definitely return to play another time though.
NOT TAKEN CARE OF
COURSE IN TERRIBLE SHAPE
FAIRWAYS HAVE NOT BEEN WATERED
HAD TO FIND SOME GRASS TO HIT BALL OFF OF
COULD BE A NICE COURSE IF THEY WOULD PUT
SOME EFFORT INTO MANAGING IT
WILL NOT GO BACK UNTIL THAT
Easy course
If you want an easy course for not too much money this is it.
