Every time I play this course is just a pleasant day! The weather has been perfect, the challenge is there on almost every hole & the staff are really friendly. I've only had one day where the pace of play was slow, but not this day. This is a course that offers you different challenges and makes you think about what club you will use. There are a variety of different approaches as to how you will attack the greens. It's a fun course!
greens were great!
I have played this course 4 times now, and I've come to love it! No matter what your handicap is, there is always a challenge ahead of you. Some really testy holes and some holes that are risk/reward. Everyone that I have talked with at Raccoon Hill have been very friendly and helpful. Appreciate the atmosphere!
Old Style
This is an old style tree lined course with small greens and lots of sand and water. It provided a moderate challenge to mid handicappers.
great greens
Front nine tees need some work, but course is in pretty good shape even after storm. The greens are very nice and easy to putt on. Staff, anyhow the ones I've talked to, were very friendly and helpful. Love the back nine, which is the toughest, and is very challenging. I actually played it better in the three times I've played it than the front nine. Enjoy the course a lot.
Nice course
This is a nicely maintained course with a great friendly staff. I would definitley recommend it.
Happy Golfer
My first time playing Raccoon Hill, and the first thing that struck me was how friendly and helpful the staff was to me. From the gentleman at the counter, to the young man for the carts, they were pleasantly friendly and helpful. The course was just beautiful and fairly challenging, yet very playable. The 13th and 14th holes were very exciting just trying to figure out how to play them. I've never played a par 5 that your couldn't use a driver on, or even a 3 metal. I had to use three irons because there are three sharp turns with trees everywhere! The 18th is a very scary, but doable par three. I will definitely be back, probably next week! Enjoyed the whole day! Even though it was pretty busy, the flow of the round was very good.
Great Course and Great Value
I always enjoy playing this course. The staff is always friendly. It’s a good course with a good value. I got my first Eagle this past weekend on Fathers Day on #9
Love this course
Love playing this course, challenging but playable. The greens were in great shape, true and firm. For the price you can’t beat it.
Always enjoyable
My husband and I play this course quite often, and we always enjoy ourselves. The people who work there are very friendly and accommodating, and there is a very nice vibe about the whole course—relaxed and laidback. The food Is very tasty and priced well, and it’s just a very pleasant experience every time we play there.
Fun course
As always Racoon Hills is a very friendly and challenging course. The only complaint I have the pace at times will grind to a halt. The staff is very friendly and the bar is always stocked well. Jason Turner runs a very good staff and insures the course is in good condition at all times.
A little slice of heaven in the Hudson Kent metroplex
Blissful solitude and excellent condition make this a great experience!
Bad Idea
The best thing I can say about this course is that the staff is really friendly. Raccoon Hill doesn''t charge much for a round of golf, but they really shouldn't charge anything. Every tee box is a nightmare - most of them are so bumpy and un-maintained that it's tough to find a place to tee up. The rest of them are just torn to pieces. Hard to differentiate between fairway and rough on a lot of the holes (apparently the mower hasn't been tuned up for the season yet). Greens were OK. As far as amenities - food was undercooked (stay away from the Italian sausage unless you like it rare) and the golf carts are a mess.
OK Round
Course was OK. Layout OK. Condition OK. Price was really good.
A gem
No matter what the weather, what time of year, how the general season is progressing, this gem of a course is a great place to play with friends, play by yourself or get paired up! Don’t miss this one!
Great local course
Good course considering it’s december. Fairways are in good shape, greens are in ok shape for the time of year. Only negative was the rough was almost non existent green side leaving chipping out of mud. Recommend giving it a shot if your looking for a place to play in fall when everyone else is closed.
