Basic course
Couple tough holes. For the price its worth playing. Greens in good condition. Fairways hit or miss. Tee boxes average. Nothing special.
Nice course 8-22
Even through the rain the course was in great condition.
Enjoyed the day. Great place to enjoy a round of golf.
Excellent public course
Had not played here in years due to previous anti customer attitude of former management. Course in great shape. Nice varied layout. Would definitely golf here again.
Pleasant Valley value plus
For having heavy rain the day before this course was excellent. Grounds crew did a great job . Fairways cut and greens were firm. No complaints with this course, my golf game however; let's say I need to come back
Great local course
Clubhouse was a little out dated but overall a very nice course to play with open fairways and challenging ones too. Not a lot of water and not a lot of sand either. Will be playing again!
I had avoided Pleasant Valley for 20 yrs because of nasty staff. Figured they may have new staff by now. They do, and they were friendly and efficient. As far as the course, it was as challenging as I remembered. The fairways are good except for a few patches of bee clover which is plentiful in the rough. greens in good shape. I will be back
Course maintenance
I like the layout and the fact that it always provides a quick round. The rough needs mowed consistently. I saw a guy cutting the grass by the clubhouse, and that is just asinine. If u hit it in the rough, you’ll lose 600 golf balls. Greens are great. Just try and clean up the rough and respect the customers. Be customer obsessed not money obsessed.
overall rating was very good with one complaint
I arrived at the course at 9:45 for my 11:01 tee off time.I told the guy behind the counter(who was also the starter)that I would be glad to tee off early if any time slots were open. He said we cannot let you out more than 15 minutes early. Several slots were not taken but they made me wait until the 11:01 time. This did not make any sense. This is the first golf course I have ever played at that did not take advantage of the chance to speed up the play.
Nice layout
Great track for last minute round. Great mix of length an accuracy demands. Will be better when it dries out and will be able to get off cart path only.
Good Condition
Course is still in good condition late in the season....better than other courses I played this month....
Had some rain the night before leaving a few wet spots, so it was cart path only
Greens are in great shape
Greens are in excellent shape. Been thru a lot of courses lately where the weather has caused rough course conditions. Not here, well kept.
Front nine is quite open and forgiving. Back nine is noticably more narrow and a bit more challenging I think. Only downside I felt was the asphalt cart path runs the entire length of the course. You're going to end up hitting it and scuffing a ball or two. Just hit every fairway and green in regulation and you'll be fine! Lol
Disgusting hot dogs at the turn
The course was ok. What prompted me to write a review was how disgusting the food service at this place is.
Making the turn let's get a couple of hot dogs we said. What a big mistake. The course was pretty busy and it was 12pm exactly...how do you not have hot dogs ready to go when it's your only food item on your menu besides chips and candy bars???
What was provided to us was borderline disgusting. The hotdogs were half frozen in the cooler...I could see the frost on them as she pulled them out. The lady puts the half frozen hot dog into a bun and microwaves it for 1 minute. What the heck is this....microwaved hot dogs at a golf course? There's a hot dog steamer right there and I asked about it and she didn't say it was broken. She takes the hotdogs out of the microwave and whatever...I take a bite...still frozen in the middle. She puts in for another minute and I just throw it away...it was really gross.
The lady behind the counter struggled to handle the workload of 3 groups of 4 golfers at one time. It must be hard to refill a pitcher of beer and microwave some hot dogs. Speaking of, no wonder she was so backed up microwaving 1 hotdog at a time for all of the people in line in front of us. Why she couldn't microwave 5 or 6 or 10 hotdogs at once is beyond me. Making the turn took 25 minutes of waiting on these nasty hot dogs from this place. How about next time (there won't be a next time for me) you prepare yourself and have the hot dogs thawed out and if you're hot dog steamer isn't working....wait for it...boil them 5 or 6 at a time.
