Pleasant Valley
Course was in excellent shape in spite of the greens being recently punched and the beginning of the leaves falling. My only issue was the course pairing are threesome with a single when not necessary. The number of people playing early in the afternoon was small and filling out a foursome was not necessary
Two Putts
ONE OF THE BEST MAINTAINED COURSES IN MEDINA COUNTY
Last minute
Played pleasant valley a few years ago back then it was in terrible shape but what a turn around the course was in great shape fairways actually had grass bunkers were raked greens were true not a bad thing to say about the course .
Pace
Waited every hole on the front nine; pace disturbingly slow; never saw a ranger; quit at the turn.
Pleasant Valley is back on my Play List!
Not much play on this particular Saturday afternoon, with rain threatening and recently punched greens, but the extra-special Hot Deals pricing from GolfNow enticed my trip to Medina, Oh. A few putts were jeered off-line, but besides my shakey putting stroke, aerification is to be expected this time of year. The staff allowed my 2some to start on the back9, which allowed for our finish of 18-holes prior to a terrential downpour. Layout is fun, and par5s are expansive, especially from the back tees ---two 600yrds. At any rate, I'll be back .............
Nice Course!
Always drove by on my way to Shale Creek and wanted to stop. This is a nice old-style course. When I played, it was in great shape (except for recently aerated greens). Was challenging at times, easy at others, which made for a real fun round.
Played as a single and pace was pretty decent. I would definitely go back and play the course again.
Amazing course conditions, ehh clubhouse
The course was beautiful. Challenging holes. A good mix of pars. I was having a blast because of how amazing the grounds were. The only issue is the clubhouse. They do not offer ice with beers for the course and the only food available when I was playing was hotdogs. Other than that I definitely recommend checking it out. I'm excited to return. Most likely going to be my go-to course from now on.
Great Course - Horrible staff
This is one of my favorite courses in the area, Always in nice shape and great layout. THe only bad thing is the staff and ownership are just awful. First of all charging full price when the greens were just aerated and cart paths only was bad enough. Luckily I had a great golfnow deal but the others in our group did not. They didn't have bags or ice for us to buy beer to bring with us and after, when we wanted to have a beer in the clubhouse after the round, they said they were closing. They act like you are bothering them and they are ridiculous. It is a shame because being treated like this will keep me from playing here and I feel the course is a gem
Where's the food?
Got a pretty good deal on Golf Now and the course itself is beautiful and in great condition but my problem was the lack of staff in the clubhouse and the fact the only food or drink you can get is out of vending machines. Really? Cmon man! I asked at the turn if I could get a hot dog and the only person working says no we don't have any. Say what??? I mean what kind of golf course doesn't even have hot dogs? Sheesh!! My other problem was the lack of any water coolers anywhere on the course. It was pushing 90 degrees the day we played and we were dying out there. At least have a drink cart driving around selling beverages. Unreal! Needless to say I probably will not be a repeat customer at this course. It's a shame too because the course itself is beautiful.
Nice layout
Very nice layout. This course kept my interest throughout the round. Course was in very good condition
Pleasant Valley
The architecture of this course is fantastic. Great, great par 3's. The front nine is wonderful. The back nine is even better. Rivals Manakiki as the most rewarding layout in the area. If you go Sunday after 11:00 the course is generally wide open. Cannot say enough about the course. I have been single digit golfer for 50 years and know the game and most all the nuances of course design. 10 on a 10 scale. Condition is 8 on 10 scale.
Great course for the money
I went on GolfNow and was able to get 18 with a cart for less than 20. I had an early tee time so it only took 2 1/2 hours to play. It was a nice course with a few challenging spots like the par 3 with a bunker right in front.
Good Value
Pleasant Valley has had a few up and downs over the years, just like its fairways. Very playable, but challenging track, with plenty of length. The traps were full of nice loose sand, and the greens varied a bit in speed, but they all rolled true. The friendliness of the staff was the biggest surprise, much improved from years past. Hot dog at the turn was quite tasty, and fairly priced. They still rely heavily on their soft drink machines, but did have some soda and sports drinks chilled at the snack bar. Overall, I would say this is a very good course for the money.
Poor communication and too busy
Didn't communicate about the dog fence like cart mechanics. Way too busy; the staff let people go off on 10 with a full course. Very poor pace of play. Next time communicate about the carts as 5 other people had the same issue and were unaware of the way the carts worked.
Pathetic Place
Ugly, beat-up, and wet. Terribly slow play thanks to people on the course having no idea of golf etiquette. Poor facilities. Will never go back.
A Nice Challenge
Very nice course w/ some great holes. A very nice place to play. Course was wet due to all the rain we have had. It still did not take away from the round.
First time on course
I have always wanted to play this course. The course was in great shape but a little wet. The overall drainage of the course was poor because each hole had some kind of water saturation problem. Additionally, wetness made for a long round because of the cart path only rule. I would recommend this course and I will be playing it again but not after a rainy period.
Pretty course with lots of variety!
The fairways and greens were in good shape... lush and green; the sand traps were in great shape too. The young man who checked us in was very pleasant and nice to deal with.
Greens need improvement
The greens were shaggy and hard. A mid-morning tee time. The po already showed flowering which means they were not even cut that morning. Course is a fine layout. Fairways and tees were just fine. You do not have to touch the ball in the fairway. But the greens were difficult to hold. Springboard like. The greens have deteriorated since I last played there a couple of years ago. I will not be back until I start to see better Golf Now ratings.
Fine for a mid-October round.
It was pretty wet from recent rains, which I can't hold against the course. What was a bit disappointing was the poor leaf control. That said, it was a fun round. I thought the course was fairly challenging, and look forward to playing it again sometime under better conditions. I was more or less in and out, but in my limited interactions with the staff, they were very friendly.
