No warning re cart path only
Booked tee time night before. FYI have only 50 percent lung function due to past illness.
Carts had kill switch if you went off path. Normally they are set to stop engine only around greens.
Did not know until after 1st tee shot. No CPO sign in pro shop until later in day.
There's no safe way for me to book at this course except for same day, and only after calling them to make sure rules are not CPO that day. Course will not refund $ to golfer who has to quit due to health.
Cart paths are all broken up on back nine; pro shop says they cannot afford to fix. So course should close entirely on cart path only days.
Plus kill switches on carts are dangerous to people with health issues because they can be left on course without cart, no access to breathing meds etc. Many people cannot carry bag back to clubhouse. I had lung spasms at times during round. I had to abandon some balls if they were too far of a walk from path.
Although I was gasping for air course employee berated me.
Can Golfnow ask courses to report CPO in AM and then GN sends text or email to golfer? Then also GN should require courses to give at least part refund in health situations like mine. The value of what golfer gets for money drops greatly on CPO days so they should know in advance if humanly possible.
GREAT COURSE
This course layout is great. Greens could be a bit faster and more receptive to iron shots. Had a lot of shots that hit the green and bounced like a superball over the green hardly leaving a pitch mark on the green. Our foursome 3 of us were playing Pro V's and having a rough time stopping the ball on the green. however very challenging course great shape and they have started renovating the clubhouse a lil. Not that it really matters as we come for the golf not the clubhouse.LOL
New Favorite
Played for first time here today and it quickly has become a new favorite of mine. Greens were pure, and course layout was anything but boring. Pace of play was great played 18 in about 2.5 hours. Only negative is cart paths in pretty rough condition.
Good Round in nice weather (May)
Surprisingly not too many people showed up on a perfect day for golf. Got to play by myself and finished within 3 hours! Coarse was in nice shape for being so wet this past month. Other courses I have played recently had clumps of grass on the fairways and near fairways - and many still soggy (plugs). Pleasant Valley uses Robot mowers which seem to keep the fairways fairly manicured. most greens and tee boxes in good shape.
Great shape !
They have robot mowers and they are really doing a great job.
Great golfing in March
Can’t remember last time I teed up in March. Ohio weather just doesn’t cooperate. Course is in good condition for being this early.
Would not be my first choice, but I’d be willing to come back
The first nice day of spring… the course should have adjusted its tee time spacing to be slightly longer. Every 8 minutes when it’s cart path only is a recipe for disaster. Didn’t end up finishing until 5.5 hours after my scheduled tee time. Otherwise, I mostly enjoyed the course. Plenty of variation of holes with open space to provide forgiveness, and narrow landing areas requiring precision. The course was in good shape. Other than being worried about pace, I would consider coming back.
Not worth the money
The course is the epitome of “meh”. Not a nice enough course for the price, especially compared to others nearby. If you get a deal and don’t care too much about condition, go ahead; but for full price, I’d go elsewhere for a much better course.
