Great course
Great course, first time we went and it was beautiful. Pace of play was great, staff was wonderful and very welcoming.
Course Conditions A+
Fairways are in amazing shape. Greens were in perfect condition.
Wished the greens ran a tad faster but there not slow or anything.
Front is wide fairways and longer. Back is tighter and a little bit shorter.
Silent little Robot mowers cut the fairways, was pretty cool.
The bunkers that they do have are well positioned. They have a few holes where water is in play. So they do make very good use of defenses that they do have. Theres just not a ton of them. Bunkers were well groomed. I was able to hit very good splash sand shots out of them.
Simple design but they really do make great use of defenses they do have including some length on the front.
We played the Blue tees as 7-12handicap players and it was a good honest test of golf. Dry sunny day. Some greens were firmer than others.
#16, #17, #18 is a great test.
Par#17: Very tough from blues, against the wind. Forced carry 210 plus wind.
Great experience I would go again but it is a little pricey.
Idk if this type of track deserves to be $74. But it’s worth it imo to have much less traffic on course at one time, pace of play was never an issue as a 2-some. We were allowed to play through a 4some and a single behind us played through as well and then we finished as a 3some. I think the less traffic has allowed those greens and fairways to stay so nice.
No cart girl.
Good overall experience.
If you like to play in rain...
The course was in great shape and nobody was there. It rained most of the round, then around 3:00 pm it was closed. Not sure why nobody was there, although the price is pretty high for seniors. It competes with 2 nearby expensive courses and maybe it increased its price too much. The conditions are much better than Bunker Hill or Shale Creek.
Nice 18
Nice course...greens and tee boxes good shape...3 some of old farts had no etiquette....played as a single and the entire back 9 didn't let me play through....no driving range....
The course is overshadowed by the price
I think Pleasant Valley is a nice course, challenging and in good shape. But it’s $75 to play which is more expensive than just about any course in the general area. They have robots cutting the fairways, but they have cart paths that are falling apart. Stop spending money on robots and if you’re going to charge $75 around, you should have cart paths that aren’t completely destroyed
Terrible
74 bucks for this? Not a good layout and cath paths in terrible shape. There are a million other courses better for that price point. Definitely will not be back
No warning re cart path only
Booked tee time night before. FYI have only 50 percent lung function due to past illness.
Carts had kill switch if you went off path. Normally they are set to stop engine only around greens.
Did not know until after 1st tee shot. No CPO sign in pro shop until later in day.
There's no safe way for me to book at this course except for same day, and only after calling them to make sure rules are not CPO that day. Course will not refund $ to golfer who has to quit due to health.
Cart paths are all broken up on back nine; pro shop says they cannot afford to fix. So course should close entirely on cart path only days.
Plus kill switches on carts are dangerous to people with health issues because they can be left on course without cart, no access to breathing meds etc. Many people cannot carry bag back to clubhouse. I had lung spasms at times during round. I had to abandon some balls if they were too far of a walk from path.
Although I was gasping for air course employee berated me.
Can Golfnow ask courses to report CPO in AM and then GN sends text or email to golfer? Then also GN should require courses to give at least part refund in health situations like mine. The value of what golfer gets for money drops greatly on CPO days so they should know in advance if humanly possible.
GREAT COURSE
This course layout is great. Greens could be a bit faster and more receptive to iron shots. Had a lot of shots that hit the green and bounced like a superball over the green hardly leaving a pitch mark on the green. Our foursome 3 of us were playing Pro V's and having a rough time stopping the ball on the green. however very challenging course great shape and they have started renovating the clubhouse a lil. Not that it really matters as we come for the golf not the clubhouse.LOL
New Favorite
Played for first time here today and it quickly has become a new favorite of mine. Greens were pure, and course layout was anything but boring. Pace of play was great played 18 in about 2.5 hours. Only negative is cart paths in pretty rough condition.
Good Round in nice weather (May)
Surprisingly not too many people showed up on a perfect day for golf. Got to play by myself and finished within 3 hours! Coarse was in nice shape for being so wet this past month. Other courses I have played recently had clumps of grass on the fairways and near fairways - and many still soggy (plugs). Pleasant Valley uses Robot mowers which seem to keep the fairways fairly manicured. most greens and tee boxes in good shape.
Great shape !
They have robot mowers and they are really doing a great job.
