Rancocas Golf Club

One of the more beautiful course layouts around. Certainly a fun yet challenging course with the deep Jersey rough. Will definitely be back.

This is a nice course that has 2 different types of nines. Front nine is tree lined and accuracy is needed, the back nine is more open and plays fairly short. It is not a course I would put in my top 20 in the area.

Staring with the pro shop employee who was very pleasant and the starter who made sure to lay everything out for us. Electric carts that had some pep to them. The course is a good test for your low handicap golfer and exciting for your higher handicap golfers. The course was in impeccable shape the fairways were lush, the tee boxes were well taken care of and the greens rolled true and were in great shape also albeit a little slow. The turn had a nice halfway house with a very nice woman behind the counter. Bang for buck it should be on everyone’s list to play a few times a year. There was plenty of maintenance equipment out taking care of the course all day and they would gladly turn their machines off if you were in hitting distance as to not drown you out with their noise. The rough was thick maybe a homage to Oakmont this week. The sand traps were well maintained also. Overall a 5 star hidden gem in south Jersey!

The course was in good shape. Greens were rolling true though a bit slow (maybe better, still early in season). The layout plays to shorter off tee on many holes. If you’re pitching and putting well, you’ll score well.

Greens were in excellent shape, good speed, rolling well. Pace of play was excellent- 4 hour round.

Fairways also well maintained

No food cart that day coupled with no on course water coolers was abit of a challenge

Over great value and will definitely come back

The course is on the shorter side with no 'signature hole' to wow you, but in the end the course was fair and I enjoyed my round. I played with some very nice locals who told me a little about the area. They mentioned that Ranconas recently received an infusion of money and has improved. The tee boxes and greens are in good shape. And many of the cart paths have been repaved. Carts were in good condition too. The staff was pleasant. One negative is the power lines on hole 17 and the trees that seemed to jump in front of my drives on several holes. I might try one of their sister courses before returning here, but I will return to Ranconas on a future business trip.

I played with a buddy of mine who is fairly new to golf like myself. When we got there at check in, the guy working the counter said we can “tee off whenever you’re ready” not even considering the fact that I came there 40 min early (to hit the range). I have a feeling this is why the pace of play is so slow. There is no starter at the first tee to regulate the pace. We were waiting for the group in front of us the entire 18 holes, as the group behind us was then waiting for us. 5.5 hours of play for 18 holes is a bit much if you ask me.

Greens are in good shape and roll out fast. Fix your ball marks and let's keep them that way.
