Rancocas Golf Club

Played an afternoon round of 9 holes in 2 hours and 40 minutes. We spent roughly 18 minutes on each hole waiting for a four-some (3 riding and 1 walking) in front of us. Ranger came around and was nice but did not inform them to pick it up. There were 5 groups behind us waiting as well. After talking to people that have played this course they said it’s always slow like that and that’s why there is always tee times available. First and last time playing here.

Our visit to Rancocas was a perfect examp0le of what is occurring in public play golf in 2026. Prices are higher but courses, and experiences are the same as they were in 2018. In effect, it just cost more for the same golf experience of 8 years ago. I guess thart's just what we need to accept in contemporary life in America.

We teed off at 8:40am on a Saturday morning and we were done by 12:30pm! One of my fastest rounds anywhere on a Saturday morning. It is early April but the course is in good shape. I’ve played here at least 30 times over the last 12 years so I know the layout well. Front is tight, I think I only used driver 3 times, back is a bit more open. I shot an 82 but didn’t putt well. The greens aren’t flat and my speed was a little off.

Paid $90 for the round, didn’t know that there was no Senior rate on Sunday, it is not a $90 course.

It took 4:15 to play the round- due to a college team on a practice round ahead of us- they had open holes ahead of them and it- rangers were aware.

The course was in decent shape, but the pace was painfully slow. Group ahead of us would search for a ball for 10 minutes, but since they’re pals with the field marshal it’s all ok.

Grounds crew literally came down the fairway, blowing grass clippings into my buddy WHILE he was taking his shot. No w exaggeration, they were 20 ft away with industrial blowers showing clipping on him.

You have to do better. You can do better for the price.

Overall condition of the course was in decent shape considering the grass is finally starting to recover from the brutal summer heat. However most tee boxes were filled with divots and some greens were spotty with bald spots. The greens looked like they were aerated recently which is understandable, but quite a few greens had grass clippings left behind, not ideal. Most annoying part of our round was the staff cutting grass during our round. They did not acknowledge us and even running over balls in play. Most places I've played, they would at least stop at a safe distance and let you hit before proceeding. They went around us as if we were in their way, not cool! Not worth the money for the amount of frustration we have to deal with.

Great weather and really nice course. Couple of green had some issue but there aerated them now. Always a great time playing

Bare and uneven tee boxes. Rough was not consistent. Bare spots abound. Some fungus on 2 greens.

I brought 2 beginners with me. Starter didn't put us on notice, but did catch us on the green of the 1st hole to let us know he was having the 2 guys behind us play thru. But we manage to stay on pace afterwards and we didn't need any more interventions from the nice starter. The front desk and cart guys were very nice too. That aside, greens were very very fast and challenging. But the fairways and tee boxes had crab grass everywhere. For a muni course, it was fine. I would return.

Overall was a nice round as a single, hooked up with locals who knew the nuances of the track, tee boxes a bit beat up, fairways good and most greens were good, they roll true but some had some type of fungus on them and looked bad, overall good track for the money and given its end of August is to be expected
