Hail to Robert Trent Jones
I understand ownership changes and maybe nodding to the past has become blasé, yet, shout out to Robert Trent Jones Sr. for the 1966 layout. Don't miss a green, up and down is no easy task. When the design was laid out 54 years ago, I'm guessing they knew the difficulty they were constructing. Conditions were Good, greens were rolling and fun speed.

Course is in great shape but horrible management and oversight. Tee time was 1:20 pm. When we arrived there were no carts available. 4 groups standing around waiting for carts. So fed up just went out and walked, did not get reimbursed. One course saw 3-4 carts per group and at least one 6-some playing together. No ranger, no starter. Person cleaning the carts was working his butt off but only employee in sight.

Poor value
Course conditions and the layout are good. I liked the greens they were challenging but fair. The one hole on the front nine with the wires over hanging the tee is fun, you have no idea if you'll catch a wire or not. Their driving range left a bit to be desired, especially since I'm a lefty. They had the mats that in order to switch to lefty you have to turn the entire mat around. Fortunately, I was able to find one that was already a lefty mat. Their range balls must have had something done to them because no ball was flying past 200 yards, and I consistently hit my driver 230-250. Also, the pace of play was horrendous. I paid for 18 but bowed out after 12 because it was on track to be a 5-6 hour round with no rangers in sight.

Tricky shots needed
Many doglegs and need to shape shots. Bunkers need more sand. Greens roll true, although I needed to fix many ball marks.

Improving
Tee Boxes are now level greens were rolling true and fast once they get the bunkers squared away course will be amazing.

Wish I something better to say...
We got some overnight rain, not alot but more than enough to make this course unplayable. It's basically a swamp (didn't know this) so playing after rain not recommended. Greens were in decent shape and they were aerating fairways today (no heads up). Really the only positives. No hole markers so impossible to know if one was playing the correct hole. I ended up playing back nine first (accident, no starter or ranger) and walking off after nine (having paid for 18). Course was unplayable marshmellow and rightfully, cart path only. Seems like they are making an effort to grow back tee boxes and fairways but a very long way to go. Rough was an inconsistent mess and every bunker on the course could double as a garbage dump. Maybe on a beautiful day when it hasn't rained in a week this would be fun , but from the joyless check-in by an unhappy man to the last hole (bird!) this one was a waste of time. Cart guy was friendly after asking for directions to pro shop, figured I'd mention since he was the only employee I encountered other than the check-in guy.

Solid
They Say they are working on fixing the bunkers it is a big job but of course his overall pretty solid shape a little wet on the back, but greens are pretty nice and pretty well-maintained for the money definitely worth playing

Best conditions in years
We’ve played Rancocas for years. The past few years the course has been in horrible condition, every aspect l lol(tee box, fairway, bunkers, greens). Played twice earlier this year, same horrible conditions.
Came back today and was VERY pleasantly surprised. Tee boxes are flattened and has grass. Fairways are ok, not too great but not bad. The greens are magnificent. The bunkers are still trash. No sand and lots of weeds. Bunkers are more like marsh land.
Would gladly come back in these conditions.

Needs a lot of work
This was my first time playing this course and it will be the last for a long time. The course is in very poor condition. Greens were terrible. I believe it is under new management but there is some serious work to do. Price was way to much for a course in this condition.

Ehh
Not sure what happened over here. This place used to be great. Greens are chewed up, sand traps are mud traps- complete with weeds and grass in them, huge mud pits in the fairways and tee boxes..... for the price, you can play somewhere much nicer!!
