Course was in better condition than many others in the area.
We're finally getting some decent weather and the course was quite crowded. This made for some slow play. Pleasantly surprised to see the condition of the fairways. Many in the area are in poor shape. Rancocas looked much better than most.
This course use to be nice.
Not so great conditions. Tee boxes, greens and fairways were bare in many spots. Pace of play was incredibly slow which was a result of too many golfers on the course. I will not purposely seek this place out again to play unless I've been invited. Even then, I would recommend a different course.
course was in good condition considering the weather this year
course was in good shape. Tee boxes were the only thing lacking
decent open course, needs a lot of work
I want to like this course, i really do, but the course conditions were just not good. i got a discounted rate at 610 AM of 40$, but if i had known every other fairway would be 1/3 dirt i probably would have gone elsewhere. 1 par 3 green was 50% sand. i am not sure who feels good about paying the full rate at this course in the condition it is in.
If they take some care, this would be 4 star course for sure. It had decent length for a northeast public course, with nice bunker placements. overall, if they charged 20$ it would be fine but until those fairways are cleaned up i wont be coming back.
This course needs Help!
A lot of water damage. Greens and tee boxes were very poor!
it was a mess
I brought 3 friends that have never played the course and they told me to never ask them to play there again. It was an absolute mess of a golf course. Worst conditions I've seen anywhere in years.
bad time of the year
normally this course is in good shape - we went in late July and the course was burnt and bare in many spots. this summer has been bad for most courses in south jersey, hoping it gets to shape soon.
Well Maintained despite the Summer Flooding
We have had so much rain this summer that I was curious to see how muddy it would be playing. The course was cart path only and they have it well maintained.
I do have 1 complaint. I have been playing here for several years now and every time I play here the 11th hole is a disaster! It an good hole for a possible birdie for an average golfer because of the short distance but the green is a total beach. How many years does it take to do maintenance or build a green?
I must say that the staff has GREATLY improved. One of my biggest issues in the past with this course was the staff. Outright RUDE in the past. Today they were ALL polite!
Thank You!
I did score a fantastic deal on the price....Only $20 so that helped in making my experience here great.
Water me
This Course could be beautiful. Lot of brown and destroyed tee boxes. Blame it on the heat but other courses in the region are not in this bad of shape. Water! Water! Water! Starter was friendly and full of helpful information.
Slow Play
Course was in decent condition. Crowded. Great deal for the money. Challenging. Greens were slow but in good condition.
Just okay, needs work
tee boxes, cart paths, need work, was out there behind a single who was brutal and then another two some behind a foresome. after double par should be a ranger that explains we don't want to be there all day long.
Nice course and the conditions were good.
Played at 6:00 PM. The course conditions were good. Greens were not super fast but it was not slow as the last time I played it.
I would play it again for sure.
Nice course
The course was in excellent shape, considering the buckets of rain in the past week or so. The staff was friendly, especially for a packed holiday. Overall, very good experience.
Friendly staff
Awsome place to play for the Golf now deal. Carts equiped with coolers for this BYOB set up and ice is provided. Real nice touch. Looking to get back and play again!!!!

A little confusing trying to find the first tee box
The staff was pretty unfriendly and no mention was made that the 1st tee box is across the road. When you come out of the club house the 10th tee is right there so they really need to put a sign directing you to the 1st tee.
Rancocas -06/30/2013
Was looking for an early morning tee time for myself as a single on a Sunday. Booked through Golfnow.com on short notice, and got a 6:44 am time. Staff was very friendly, and the starter gave me a great walk through of the opening hole, as well as what both 9s would be like. It was appreciated. The course was in pretty good shape. Fairways were in good shape. The teeboxes were in OK shape, typical of a course in midseason getting play. The greens were slightly slow, and could have been made a little faster. But, that could be due to the heat, and the grounds crew wanting to make sure the greens do not get damaged. The rough was lush. And I liked the layouts of the holes. Lots of doglegs, both left and right. Overall, I would may play it again. Only negative for me is it is about 40 miles from my house.
Poor Management
The course condition was very poor. Many green side bunkers were filled with water and hard as a rock. The greens were not mowed down which cause many bumps while putting. The worse of it all was the wait. Apparently, they were hosting a tournament which started earlier in the day but started to let the customers in the afternoon. But by the time, we got to 9th hole, there was about 4 groups wait on the tee to tee off. My group waited for about 20-25 minutes to tee off. From then on, it was a constant wait of 10 minutes each hole. I have never seen a course where 4-5 groups were waiting on 1 tee. There was no one from Rancocas monitoring the situation. I actually called in from the 9th tee but only response was I will try to get someone out there but since there is a tournament, there is not much they can do. The ranger came by to say, there is nothing they can do. Only saving grace was a thunderstorm which cleared the whole course and allowed crazy people like me to finish in the rain and thunderstorm in 5 hours.
A Course for People Who Just Want to Golf
I've been going to Rancocas for the last year or so. Every time I go the staff is very friendly and the pace is perfect. The course is kept together nicely and isn't frustratingly difficult. The main attraction is that there isn't an elitist atmosphere there, it is just normal people who want to improve their golf game without the attitude or ridiculously slow pace of other members there. I used to frequent another local course called Golden Pheasant, but the people who play there treat you like you're an outsider who sneaked onto a private club. I highly recommend this course because it provides the best value and friendlier atmosphere than all the other courses in the area.
